About 11 or 12 years ago before I was a pt I decided I was carrying too much weight as I was around 14.7 stone and at 5.2ft that was big.
Mainly due to believing that to be a good power lifter I had to eat loads, no matter what it was I ate, size meant strength which I know now is rubbish.

So I decided to shift weight and lost almost 5 stone to around 9.7 stone and hated that too.
I tried every fad diet under the sun and took part in every cardio fitness class I could find, sometimes 3 hours training a night and although I lost weight I hated the way I looked and felt.
I ended up skinny and weak and although I was probably at my lowest bodyfat levels and leanest I've ever been I hated it.
In fact I hated it enough that I don't think there is a picture with me topless anywhere, in fact there isn't many pictures at all, if any.
People were asking if I was ill.
Low body fat, lean and fit and still wasn't happy.
SO WHAT WAS THE POINT?
There wasn't any. I did it because I thought that was society wanted.

The picture here was me on the way back up, probably around 10.7st and as you can see I still look ill and skinny with no shape or definition.
It was around this point I changed everything.
🔹️I started calorie counting,
🔹️I starting following proper weight training programs,
🔹️I started lifting weights 3 to 4 times a week,
🔹️I stopped doing as much cardio going from 6 cardio sessions a week to 1,
🔹️I concentrated on my protein intake,
🔹️I stopped listening to what I saw online, it just confused me and I hated the diet and life it brought,
🔹️I stopped looking for quick fixes,
🔹️I started concentrating on what I found worked for me, not what others thought.
🔹️And I trained until I liked what I saw and fitted the life I wanted, not what others thought I should look like,
Now at 43 I'm fitter and stronger than I've ever been and best of all, I'm the happiest I've ever been with my physique.
I carry fat but that's ok as I know why.
🔹️I have a wife and 2 kids,
🔹️I'm 43,
🔹️I enjoy a drink,
🔹️I enjoy my weekends,
🔹️I enjoy food,
🔹️And best of all I try and enjoy life.
