Welcome to the Official page of Avon Jets Badminton Club. We are a friendly and competitive club based in North Bristol who, while playing our club nights on Thursdays (7pm - 9pm), also enjoy an active social side with regular event held throughout the year (Pre-covid), such as; Escape rooms/bowling/meals and more! As well as our normal weekly club nights, we also play in the Bristol Badm

inton League. Our club are always looking for new players, so if you're looking for a club who play at an intermediate standard and the chance of playing competitive matches in the local league, then contact us :)

No club for the next two weeks.
Unfortunately the hall is not available for us to use for the next two club nights, 22nd and 29th February. We will be back as normal on the 7th March. Apologies for any inconvenience caused!

We have just been informed by Bradley Stoke that the hall is not available due to the heavy rain and leaky roof again! 🤦🏼‍♂️

VISITOR INFORMATION UPDATE!

From this Thursday onwards (05/10/23), there will be a limit to the number of visitors that we can accommodate on any particular evening to a total of 5 visitors. Furthermore, this will be allocated on a first come first served basis, with spaces to be booked using an on-line club organisation app called Playwaze (link to access our club page will be posted below - it will be necessary for you to make an account, but once you have done so you will be able to select a session to book onto). Unfortunately, if you can't book a place, please don't turn-up as we would regretfully have to ask you to not take part.
We apologise for any inconvenience but have decided to take this necessary step to ensure the club nights are as efficient and inclusive as possible!
It's great to see so many people interested in badminton and our club though 😁🏸

VENUE UPDATE!
As you'll all be very aware by now we have had many issues with our current venue for club nights and as a result we have managed to secure Brimsham Greens school sports hall again for the time being until the end of February. This comes in to effect from Thursday 24th November, still 7-9pm.

For those that play in our league teams we will have our home matches at Patchway school on Tuesday evenings 8-10pm. This comes in to effect from Tuesday 22nd November until the end of the season.

Apologies for the bombardment of information! The address for club nights is as follows:
Brimsham Green School,
Broad lane,
Yate,
BS37 7LB
The hall is actually behind the school so please follow signs for Yate outdoor sports complex when you get close to the school, these will direct you to the car park.

Address for match nights is as follows:
Patchway community school,
Hempton lane,
Almondsbury,
BS32 4AJ.

I think that covers just about everything (phew!)

URGENT!!
Apologies for the late notice but we have just been informed by the school that due to the torrential rain recently the hall is unusable and so club tonight is cancelled. They have also said that we can't have the hall until at least December which means future club nights will likely be affected as well.
We are having a committee meeting tonight to discuss what options we have and will be able to give an update as soon as we can 👍🏻
Again sorry for the inconvenience and disruption but it's unfortunately out of our hands 🤦🏼‍♂️

IMPORTANT!
Hi all,
Apologies for the late notice but the school has just informed us that we will potentially only have 2 courts available for club tonight 🤦🏼‍♂️ and yes, it's because of the leak in the roof again!
To avoid potentially long wait times between games if anyone was in two minds about playing tonight or its your first visit then tonight might be a good time to treat yourself to a night off!
Apologies again for the inconvenience, the committee is working on solutions to minimise disruption in the future.

Tonight was our last night at Winterbourne academy, hence we will be returning to Bradley Stoke community school from next Thursday (1st September).

Important!!
Starting this Thursday 7th July our club nights will be at Winterbourne academy:
Winterbourne Academy, Sports Village, Flaxpits Lane, Winterbourne, Bristol BS36 1JL (go to Sports Village via Flaxpits Lane and not the High Street)

This will continue until September upon which we will finally return to our usual venue of Bradley Stoke community school. 😁

All club nights are Thursdays 7-9pm irrespective of venue 👍🏻
