Concerns that the new documents do not alleviate concerns on Air Quality, Flood, School children disturbance and safety, disturbance to local business, disruption to rights of way, trees, wildlife, habitat, displacement of users to conservation areas etc, etc
How will Cemex or HCC compensate you or the schools or businesses should they be resonsible for pollution, health or highways disruptions and / or negative affects - ask them? What compensation do they have in place.

THIS IS IT FOLKS!

If you live in the village or local area or even if you come here for sailing or other reason help save our village

Our last throw of the dice before a potential decision in Feb '24. Cemex has issued its final response to the last 18 months of submissions. Their information appears technical and complex, but the fundamental issues remain the same. The HPRG and our Parish Council will dig into the technical detail but we need the quantity of responses again to show the frustration and concerns have not gone away. Your message should be your story, why you do not want this quarry and how it will affect you.

We have until 15th DECEMBER to counter their response.

Response is by email to: [email protected].
Or by post - Development Management, Universal Services, The Castle,Winchester, Hants, S023 8UD

Please remember to include the Planning Application Number: HCC/2021/0787, with your name & address.

Or, by hard copy at the Mercury Hub - due to be available shortly.

It is important we get a quantity of responses in.

There is no limit per household, so get everyone to write in. Ask your friends and family who visit Hamble, your work colleagues, your team mates if you play football, sail boats, badminton, hockey.

We need to to spread the word through the school, parents, children.

Watch out on facebook for ideas but essentially this is an industrial quarry in the heart of the village.

Boracic went sailing without Cap'n Calum this weekend !

The girls entered the Dubarry Aquatech Women's Open Keelboat Championship. A round the cans event run and sailed by just women.

Only 4 of the crew had sailed her before and not everyone knew each other. And No training day so we were a little rusty to start to say the least. And we won't mention the first start line !!

But we grew together over the weekend and even managed a 3rd place on the water !
