Tonight, our Parish Council had the honour of awarding the first-ever Freedom of the Parish Award for Halvergate and Tunstall to Carol Hannant.
This recognition is thoroughly deserved and reflects over 40 years of dedicated service to our communities. Carol has given countless hours volunteering for both the Parish Council and the QEII Playing Field Committee, where she has served as Secretary for many years.
From organising community events and fundraising activities to ensuring every detail is just right, Carol has played a huge role in making our village life what it is today. Whether it's the Prize Bingo, Halloween Discos, Christmas Extravaganza, community dances, celebrations, or countless other events over the years, Carol has always been at the heart of making them happen.
On a personal note, as Chairman of the QEII Playing Field Committee, my role is made so much easier by having Carol alongside me. Her knowledge, dedication, guidance and encouragement are invaluable, and she continually inspires those around her to give their best for the community AND her Cheese and onion Rolls are absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!
On behalf of everyone at the QEII Playing Field Committee, congratulations Carol on this very special and historic award. Thank you for everything you have done, and continue to do, for Halvergate and Tunstall. It is an honour to work alongside you, and this recognition could not have gone to a more deserving person.
👏 Congratulations, Carol – a true community champion.
