Stane Street Players Stane Street Players are an amateur drama group based in Earls Colne. We're a friendly bunch so get in touch if you're interested! ✨🎭

Whether you fancy a go on- or offstage, we're open to all regardless of ability or experience. Stane Street Players are the local non professional drama group operating in the Halstead and Earls Colne area. We put on 2 or 3 shows every year including a pantomime, and perform at either Earls Colne Village Hall or the Empire Theatre in Halstead

New members are very welcome, regardless of experience

, and we are always looking for people to help backstage, with set construction, lighting and sound, or front of house, as well as those who want to ‘tread the boards’

We also welcome younger people who wish to be involved with our Pantomime productions

We are a very sociable group and organise various social events throughout the year for our members, from Theatre trips to visits to local vineyards, eating out and after show events, Bonfire night parties and summer picnics.

💫🐰Casting Call!🎩💫

We are absolutely frabjous to announce Stane Street Players will be bringing our January 2027 Panto "Alice in Wonderland" by Tom Whalley to Halstead!❤️

This panto has a host of speaking roles of all sizes, amazing songs, spectacular dances and even a live band.🎷

Young Alice, bored of the books with no pictures on the river bank, follows a cheeky white rabbit (with terrible timekeeping) down a rabbit hole and into a place like no place on Earth...Wonderland!

We will be hosting read throughs of the script at Earls Colne Village Hall on Sunday 28th June from 2-6pm and auditions on Thursday 16th of July from 7:30pm to 10pm and Sunday 19th July 2-6pm.

We rehearse every Tuesday and Thursday 7:30pm to 10pm.

Don't worry, if the stage isn't for you there's always a role
behind the curtain, be that costume, props, set, lighting, or front-of-house.

***Autumn production Announcement***

Are you a dancer? An actor? A singer? Perhaps a triple threat and fancy yourself as able to have a go at all three - then this is the show for you!
This year’s fun filled Autumn production, ‘Comedy Connections’, is a little different - 6 mini plays featuring dance, and song and ‘connected’ by a common theme. You can take one small part, just be chorus or there may be the opportunity to have a key role in more than one piece - the possibilities are very flexible!
It is open to all (though there is some adult content not suitable for some of our youngest members)
So, if you want to find out what the Mona Lisa can possibly have to do with a Disney Princess or even therapy, then we look forward to seeing you at our first read through in The Quaker Meeting Hall on 2nd June.
