Well done to our Ladies, who battled through the pouring rain yesterday to secure victory over Dovercourt in the annual Albert Crabb competition.

The home rink of Linda Mills, Ros Carr, Jan Stocks and Lucy Barnes produced a convincing 30–13 win, while the away rink of Sheila Martin, Lin Samuels, Cathy Ragus and Hazel Greneski fought hard but went down 14–26.

Thanks to the strength of the home team's performance, Halstead claimed the overall victory by 44 shots to 39 and now moved through to the next round, where they will face Witham.

Congratulations to everyone involved, and good luck in the next round! 🍀🏆

Last night our A team beat Tiptree B by 45 shots to 44, winning on one rink losing on two others in a very tight game. 4 points each team.

Our B team had no game scheduled this week, instead we did skill drills and practise with skip Bryan.

A good battling performance from our A team last night saw them narrowly beat Silver end C by 43-41 . 4 points each which sees them off the bottom of the table above Castle Hedingham .

A good team performance tonite in blustery rainy conditions saw all three rinks of the B team win at Bocking D by 74-31 shots total, details attached.
Sadly, we said goodbye to Keith in his last appearance for us this season. There’s always next year!

Chairman’s Charity Day is this year on Saturday 13th June starting at 10:00am. Please note the date and time change from what is stated in the Fixture Card. There will be a Drive in the morning followed by hot Lunch with a choice of, CHICKEN CURRY WITH RICE, OR JACKET POTATO, WITH CHILLI-CON-CARNIE, BEANS OR CHEESE. After Lunch we will have some FUN BOWLING, The Day will Finish with TEA AND BISCUITS. All for just £8.00 per head, Guests are welcome, and Raffle Prizes are required please.

For catering I will need to know numbers ASAP so please get your name on the sheet in the Clubhouse with your choice for lunch, if you are not going to the Club then please contact myself on 07860301645 or Trevor Wignall on 07768958536 and we will put your name up for you.

Well after being there both days of our open weekend I can report we have 5 new paid members and some interested in further bowls practise on our Monday evening club nights before joining. (Not bank holidays)
Considering the heat, the range of option’s available locally such as “party in the park” and, oh yeah the heat, I reckon not too bad a return on our time invested.
We will always welcome those newly interested in looking at playing bowls on Mondays evenings from 5.30 pm, not bank holidays.
