This afternoon, some of our dancers had the privilege of performing at the Wick Gala Week Pensioners' Lunch. โค๏ธ

A special mention goes to our younger trio, who were kindly invited along by Olivia's Nana to entertain everyone, and to Connie, one of this year's Gala Court attendants, who is also one of our own dancers. We are so proud to see our dancers representing our school and our community.

Wick Gala Week is an incredible team of volunteers who organise an amazing programme of events for people of every age. It is a true celebration of community spirit, and we're always grateful to be a small part of it.

Thank you for having us, and well done to all of our dancers for performing so beautifully this afternoon! ๐Ÿ’™

A huge well done to the Halkirk Highland Games today.

A very special thank you also goes to our Associate Teacher, Hannah Budge, who took the reins while Tanya headed to Edinburgh for the Luke Combs concert. We are incredibly fortunate to have dedicated teachers who are willing to step up, take on responsibility and continue supporting our dancers.

It is especially lovely to see dancers who once stood on those very competition platforms now giving back, helping to secure the future of Highland dancing and inspiring the next generation. We truly appreciate everything you do, Hannah. ๐Ÿ’™

Summer Camp over and out!
we're feeling incredibly proud of every single dancer who has been part of it.

We've watched our youngest dancers find the confidence to try new things without fear of not knowing, make new friends, and take those first brave steps outside their comfort zones. It's not always easy, but that's where the biggest growth happens.

One of the most special things to see has been our older dancers. Many of them were once those same little ones, looking up to the big girls. Now, they're the ones offering a helping hand, looking out for the younger dancers, and inspiring them every step of the way.

That's what our school is all about. It's more than learning Highland dancingโ€”it's about building confidence, kindness, responsibility, and a community where every child feels supported and valued.

A huge thank you to Hannah and Eilidh, who have been absolutely hands-on throughout the week. While I'm still not as mobile as I'd like to be, they've stepped up without hesitation, helping wherever needed and making sure everything ran smoothly. I simply couldn't have done it without them.

Thank you also to our wonderful parents who volunteered for park supervision duty each day. Not only did it make the camp run safely and smoothly, but it also gave our younger dancers even more trusted adults to turn to throughout the week. It truly takes a village, and we're so grateful to have such a supportive dance family.

Thank you to every dancer and every family for making this another Summer Camp to remember. We hope you've made friendships, built confidence, and created memories that will stay with you for years to come. โค๏ธ

Day 3 what a blast!

The sun came out so extra time at the park โ˜€๏ธ ๐Ÿ›

Even our youngest dancers have done amazing with their exercise drills.
Lots of teamwork and new friends being made ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’š

Day 2 over and out!
Too wet for our younger kids to join us at the park today, but our older ones knew what they were doing.. Drizzle and a slide ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ฑ

A huge thank you to the considerate drivers within the village who are patient while we navigate so many young children across the road

Tonight was a very special evening as our dancers had the honour of performing at the Wick RBLS Pipe Band parade.
It made it even more meaningful for Tanya personally, as the late Bobby Coghillโ€”her great uncleโ€”was Pipe Major of the band and dedicated so much of his life to preserving and promoting our Scottish musical traditions. His passion, leadership and commitment continue to inspire so many, and it was a privilege to see the next generation of dancers playing a small part in a tradition that meant so much to him. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

As we enjoy a well-earned break from classes, it's certainly not been a quiet summer for the Tanya Horne School of Highland Dancing! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Our dancers have been out and about across Caithness, proudly entertaining at community events, parades and performances, making wonderful memories together along the way.

A huge thank you to The Wild ones photography , our official school photographer, for so beautifully capturing these special moments. Photographs are so much more than just picturesโ€”they become treasured memories of friendships, achievements and the incredible journey our dancers take. Years from now, we'll look back on these images with pride and remember every performance, every smile and every milestone.

Thank you for helping us preserve these moments that will last a lifetime. ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ’™
