Lane in 1880. In 1920 the ground was bought from Bentleys Yorkshire Brewery at cost of £200. At the invitation of Roy Smith (Club President at that time) the captain of Yorkshire, John Hampshire, helped the Club celebrate its centenary in 1980. The club has also celebrated it's 125th anniversary of Copley Cricket Club in 2005. We have 3 league senior teams (two play on Saturday and one on Sunday) in the sections of their respective leagues. We are particularly proud of our thriving junior section. We are a member of the Halifax Junior Cricket League and run teams in the U9's, U11's, U13's, U15's and U18's age categories and fully embrace the ECB's All Stars initiative for 4 to 7 year olds. We also have a Women and Girls team which play in the Calderdale softball league. In addition to a magnificent pavilion built in 2012, the Club enjoys an excellent site for playing and watching cricket in an extremely picturesque setting. There are good quality seats surrounding the playing surface which makes the ground ideal for the staging of "cricket festivals" and "major games." For many years Copley has staged major cup finals and we have hosted the Parish Cup Final on a number of occasions, most recently in 2023
