I have recently moved to Suffolk. I am an accredited somatic trauma therapist, movement educator and 5Rhythms® teacher.
One of the things I love about the 5Rhythms® is the diversity that we bring and sharing this illuminating, expressive journey of aliveness, connection and creativity. I have regularly danced the 5Rhythms® for 25 years and taught weekly, community classes, ongoing groups, workshops and sessions at international conferences for 6 years and enjoy the creativity of creating classes and workshops for different organisations and groups to share the potential of this practice.

If you're in Ipswich tomorrow, why not drop by for a free 5Rhythms dance session? I’ll be leading an hour of movement at BBC Suffolk’s Make a Change 2025 – a day dedicated to well-being, new possibilities, and personal transformation. BBC Suffolk
📅 When? Wednesday, 12–1 PM
📍 Where? University of Suffolk, IP4 1QJ
BBC Suffolk will be broadcasting live, so if the DJ enjoys the session, they might even share some of it on air! The event runs from 9 AM to 2 PM, with local health and well-being businesses, advisory bodies, and charities offering inspiration, support, and live experiences throughout the day.
✨ MAKE A CHANGE – Dance Your Way into Transformation ✨
Movement has the power to shift your energy, clear mental clutter, and spark new ways of thinking. In this interactive 5Rhythms dance session, you’ll explore five dynamic rhythms—Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness— helping you release tension, break through limiting beliefs, and step into a more empowered, confident version of yourself.
Whether you're seeking a fresh perspective, a career shift, or simply a well-being boost, this session is an invitation to move, feel, and transform. Come as you are—no dance experience needed!
And if you’re looking for more, join us in April at The Cut, Halesworth, on the 10th & 17th for more deep and freeing dance experiences.

I believe that the 5Rhythms philosophy and practice can provide empowering opportunities for individuals to heal, grow, transform and/or enjoy the movement and connection, empty, replenish and move forwards in new directions. The 5Rhythms practice is an essential part of my personal growth, healing and spiritual journey. My vision as a teacher-in-training and spaceholder is to share the knowledge and gifts i have received from this practice and support its growth into new communities, diversity and disability. Teaching and spaceholding fill me with joy, satisfaction, pride, awareness, gratitude, humbleness and a love of supporting and empowering others to shine.
I introduced the 5Rhythms practice to Milton Keynes in 2018 and I hold 5Rhythms waves classes on Friday evenings and also produce workshops. My intention is to serve and support the growth of a multi-racial and socio-economically diverse 5Rhythms community in Milton Keynes. I create a new theme each week to invite a different perspective on the 5Rhythms and curate the music to reflect this and guide the group.
My personal mission is to nurture a safe, peaceful and creative world full of possibilities. I feel most alive and connected to my creative, gentle, vulnerable, spontaneous, playful, intuitive, open-hearted self when I am dancing. I am in awe of the body's ability to hold memories and how the 5Rthythms practice facilitates remembering, feeling, healing, transformation and celebration if you trust and follow the maps.
One of the things I love about the 5Rhythms is the diversity that we bring and I look foward to sharing this illuminating, transformational journey with you. May you dance in beauty Lucy

‘If you don't dance your dance, who will? ‘Gabrielle Roth
Come and dance for fun, wellbeing, interaction, to let go, free your mind, explore your creativity, self-awareness, acceptance, personal growth or healing. 5Rhythms is a simple and flexible practice which can be experienced by anyone regardless of culture, gender, age, shape, experience, fitness and physical limitations. There are no steps or routines so dancers can move at their own pace, within their own capacity without judgment from the other dancers.
‘You are how you move’ Gabrielle Roth
WHAT IS THE 5RHYTHMS PRACTICE?
A continuous cycle through the rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical & Stillness. Each rhythm is an opening to explore self-expression and movement and connect with body, heart, mind, soul and spirit. The music will guide you through the 5Rhythms which will help you to connect, listen to and allow your body to move freely, in its unique rhythm at its own pace. You can move individually or with others if and when you want to.
‘We dance...to shed the past, forget the future and fall into the moment feet first..’ Gabrielle Roth
