Great game for the Women’s Softball B team on Sunday, against a good Oldswinford bowling side. Tricky in the heat 🥵 The Woodettes welcomed two players who had never played cricket before - thanks Ell and Millie!

A loss by 22 runs, but some positive takeaways including Eden’s 3-8 👏

Our youngest players were in action again this morning, at a Worcestershire Cricket Foundation under-9s festival hosted by Oldswinford Cricket Club 🏏

Such an amazing group of players and always so welcoming and encouraging to each other when team-mates are playing their first games 😊

Three wins out of three was the icing on the cake - we can’t remember a clean sweep of festival wins for The Wood before today! 👏

Well done to Aariyan, Alfie, Ekam, George, Jenson, Jesse, Juliette, Thea and Zechariah!

1st XI travel to Belbroughton Cricket Club looking to bounce back after a disappointing result last week. One change with Dylan Keeling back in.

2nd XI host Belbroughton CC, with another strong looking side but needing to find some level of consistency.

3rd XI play Stourport Cricket Club at Haybridge High School, hoping to continue their strong season!

The under-10s played their first match of the season this evening, with a 57-run win away at Romsley & Hunnington. Batting first, the young Coombs Wood team made 104 for the loss of six wickets, meaning they closed on 274 net runs. They then took nine wickets, with the home side closing on 217 net runs.

Some lovely batting and the whole team bowled really well 😍

Player of the match was George, who took two wickets in his two overs, going for just six runs, and also showed great composure for a run out 👏

Well done to Alfie, Elliot, Emily, Finn, George, Jenson, Leah and Thea.

Well done to the Woodettes on the Softball A team’s 27-run win over Romsley & Hunnington last night.

Eden, captaining the team, led by example scoring 60 runs and getting a wicket. Jo R also batted amazingly and scored 50 plus. Keely, Lisa, Nat and Eden had some cracking bowling, Madi and Rach were amazing at fielding and returning the ball quickly and Georgia showed tremendous wicket keeping skills 👏

The Woodettes scored 143 - their highest score yet. Well done 🎉
