We completed our charity bike ride today, just about beating the The Royal Oak on the indoor bike for the first time! 🥵

Thank you to everybody who has taken part and also the large number of Dudley cycling club riders who came over and donated to a good cause, we have almost hit our target!

Two groups of riders hit the road completing a 100 mile lap of Birmingham and also a 60 mile ride, whilst the Royal Oak cycled 100 miles indoors!

They’re off…. 100mile challenge has started!

We will start at 9:30am and hope to keep our title as champions, with a slightly delayed start 🤞😬 anyone who can pop down and come help us do the miles or even just support us as we ride that would be fantastic.

🚴‍♂️ TWO 100-MILE CHALLENGES. ONE GREAT CAUSE. ❤️

This Saturday 5th September, The Royal Oak and Oak Velo are joining forces to raise money for Social Bite, a movement working to help end homelessness.

And we’re doing it in two very different ways…

🍺 The Royal Oak — 100 MILES INDOORS
The team at The Royal Oak will be taking on a huge 100-mile cycling challenge inside the pub, clocking up the miles without ever leaving the building!

🚴 OAK VELO — 100 MILES ON THE ROAD
Meanwhile, Oak Velo Cycling Club will be heading in the opposite direction — out of the pub and onto the road!

We’ll be riding a 100-mile loop starting and finishing at The Royal Oak, with a 60-mile route also available for riders who want to take part in the day.

🎯 THE TARGET: £1,000 FOR SOCIAL BITE

Together, we’re hoping to raise £1,000 to support Social Bite and the fantastic work they do tackling homelessness.

Sunday saw Oak Velo CC travel to support Dudley Cycle Club on their 50 mile charity ride for the Georgina Ward at Russell's Hall Hospital.

As Jim and Jon so poignantly put it though, it was more than a fundraising ride, it was a "celebration of recovery, a tribute to resilience, and a chance to make a difference for those still on their journey." and one that Oak Velo were proud to support.

Great day had by Oak Velo earlier at this year's ride for Joe. A chance for cycling clubs and individuals to come together in memory of Joe whilst raising important funds for the Midland's Air Ambulance. Thank you to Wolverhampton Wheelers CC for hosting this event and the amazing job you do.
