🩰 Exciting News for Sjaan Dance Academy 🩰

I am absolutely delighted to share that I have been accepted onto the Royal Ballet School Affiliate Programme ❤️

This is a wonderful opportunity, not only for me as a teacher, but for our entire school and all of our students.

The programme provides specialist training, professional development and access to resources from one of the world's most respected ballet institutions. It will allow me to continue developing my knowledge and teaching, ensuring that our students receive the very best training possible.

As a teacher, I firmly believe that learning never stops. The more we learn, the more we can give back to our students, and I am incredibly excited to bring everything I learn through this programme back into the studio.

Exciting News from Sjaan Dance Academy

EOTAS

We are incredibly proud to announce that Sjaan Dance Academy is now an approved East Sussex County Council Alternative Provision and EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) provider.

As a long-established dance school, we have always believed that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, achieve and feel a sense of belonging. Dance can be a powerful tool for building confidence, developing social skills, improving wellbeing and encouraging self-expression.

Through our Alternative Provision and EOTAS offer, we can provide tailored dance and movement opportunities for children and young people who may benefit from a different educational environment or additional support.

Our inclusive and nurturing approach allows every child to progress at their own pace, celebrating individual strengths and achievements along the way.

We offer a range of dance styles and creative movement experiences in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where young people can flourish.

We are excited to be extending our provision and look forward to supporting even more children and young people across East Sussex.

🎭✨ A huge well done to our wonderful Musical Theatre group ✨🎭

We are so incredibly proud of this fantastic group of students and everything they have achieved this term.

Not only have they been working hard on their singing, acting and dancing, but they have also taken on the challenge of helping to narrate our upcoming show. They have approached this responsibility with such enthusiasm, commitment and teamwork, and we couldn't be prouder.

One of the things we love most about this class is how supportive they are of one another. They work together beautifully, encourage each other and create such a positive atmosphere every week.

Last week's lesson began with a confidence-building exercise where students took turns speaking to the group and sharing stories. It was wonderful to watch them challenge themselves, step outside their comfort zones and grow in confidence.

For us as teachers, one of the greatest joys is seeing quieter students gradually come out of their shells, find their voice and begin to believe in themselves. Those moments are incredibly special.

A huge well done to every student and, of course, to the fabulous Miss Kimberly, whose passion, encouragement and creativity make Musical Theatre such a fun and inspiring class to be part of. 💙

We cannot wait to see all of your hard work come together on stage. The show is going to be amazing, and you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves.

A very special ballerina ❤️

Today was one of those moments that reminds me why I love teaching so much.

Seeing one of our senior ballerinas in the beautiful professional tutu she will be wearing for the show was incredibly special. Not only does she look absolutely stunning, but she will also be performing her very own choreography on stage a reflection of her creativity, dedication and love of dance.

Having taught her for the past 10 years, it has been an absolute privilege to watch her grow from a young dancer into the beautiful performer she is today.

The confidence, maturity, technique and artistry she now brings into the studio make me so proud, and seeing her take ownership of her own choreography feels like a real full-circle moment.

I cannot wait to see her shine on stage.

She truly deserves every moment.

A proud teacher moment ❤️

Today our ballerinas tried on their tutus for the upcoming show, and I honestly had one of those moments where I had to stop and take it all in.

They looked so grown up, so elegant and so beautiful. It feels like only yesterday some of them were taking their very first ballet steps, and now here they are looking every bit the young dancers they have worked so hard to become.

Teaching these girls is an absolute pleasure, but watching them grow in confidence, develop their technique, overcome challenges and achieve their goals is the real privilege.

The costumes are beautiful, but what makes me most proud is the dedication, kindness and hard work that sits behind them.

There are so many moments in teaching that make your heart full, and today was definitely one of them.

I am incredibly proud of every single one of these wonderful ballerinas and cannot wait to see them shine on stage.

I cannot wait to see this dance on stage!

Some dances are special from the very beginning, and this is definitely one of them .

It has been so lovely watching these two age groups come together and work as one team.

They have supported each other beautifully, worked incredibly hard and created something that I know is going to look absolutely stunning on stage.

As beautiful as they look in their costumes, it is their hard work, commitment and teamwork that really shines through.

The show is getting closer and closer, and I am so excited for our audience to see what these wonderful dancers have created together
