Really back into my groove training wise again and enjoying every session ๐Ÿค—
I could be so many things nowadays - bigger, leaner, stronger... ๐Ÿค” but I'm trying to switch my mentality to mostly just caring about enjoying training and feeling fit for football ๐Ÿ˜‚โšฝ๐Ÿƒ
One thing I was doing before covid was consciously trying to take the pressure off being what you think everyone expects you to be... ๐Ÿ’ญ
I lost sight of that after the lockdowns and started giving myself a hard time again ๐Ÿ™ƒ but I'm trying to get back to that 2018/19 vibe and just enjoy the process and look how you look as a result ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป it worked back then and it will work again ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Everyone starts somewhere, absolutely. It's not about being perfect from day 1, because nobody is... ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
But social media has everyone thinking you've got to squat 200kg at 20 years old and if you don't, you ain't s**t ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ as a result, a hell of a lot of people are squatting, pressing and deadlifting with the worst form ever and then putting a caption like "next we work on form" - I'm sorry, what was that? No lol. No โ›”
Please, just learn how to do the tough exercises properly... and then add weight โœ… please, for the love of god! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
Nobody cares what you leg press. I promise. Because if you're doing it with the depth of a paddling pool, it's about as impressive as my hairline ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Same goes for squats. Same goes for presses. Same goes for everything ๐Ÿ™‚
I've given out quite a few compliments to young lads (not like that) in Dedicated the last few weeks... not because they were squatting big weight, but because their form was awesome. And as the years go by, the amount of weight they can shift will increase - with that good form locked in ๐Ÿ”’
I know we're all addicted to likes and attention - I get it ๐Ÿง  But let's bring back doing things properly and let's take our time to learn and get them right first, before we try and do what lifters in their late 20s, who are advanced, are doing, okay? ๐Ÿค“
Promise... It's not worth the pain of the cringe you'll experience watching videos back in 5 years when you realise ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Over the last 12 weeks, I've been coaching my awesome client how to lift weights for the first time in his life ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ˜Š
He's listened, learned, and most importantly, completely fallen in love with lifting ๐Ÿ˜
Yesterday, we went on the hack squat and I asked him to do 10 reps, but with a controlled negative, a pause at the bottom and go as low as he can whilst keeping his heels flat on the pad. Sounds simple, but I know plenty 'big lads' who can't do that on the hack ๐Ÿ‘€ especially the depth bit ๐Ÿ˜‚
Anyway, a hell of a lot of effort and 2 minutes later, he finished the set. Absolutely fu***ng brilliant ๐Ÿ† 30kg a side on there, too ๐Ÿค“
He's still improving every session, but that depth and control on a hack squat is something a lot of people can't replicate ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป mostly because... it fu***ng hurts doing it right ๐Ÿ˜‚

This is from a previous client from 3 years ago when I first started at JST, completely out of the blue; along with an update as to how he's doing. Pretty bloody amazing โค๏ธ
You can't change everyone's life in this job, but you can definitely have a positive impact on many of your clients. And that's one of the main reasons why I still love doing it ๐Ÿ˜

Got a message a few weeks ago from Andy saying he wanted to deadlift again to see what he could do... and obviously, a PB is the logical outcome ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜‚
Never met anyone more structurally blessed for deadlifts ๐Ÿ˜‚ he is genuinely built for it ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป
PB aside, I really do miss training this lad regularly, so it means a lot that when he can do a session he still contacts me and we do what we've always done ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป
Awesome work, mate ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป just 7.5kg off my PB now ๐Ÿ˜

So close to all time PB at 4 plates now ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Can't quite put into words how switched on my mental strength has to be, alongside the obvious physical strength, to get more than 2 reps on this weight ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
Only thing I can liken it to is not being the normal version of me during the set. If I was the Lee I am for work and chatting to people, I'd never lift it ๐Ÿ˜… it is terrifying, as there are so many things to think of from getting it out the rack, foot positioning, keeping everything as tight as you can, going to depth; not to mention the actual bloody weight of it ๐Ÿฅบ
Having the best hypeman in the game helps, though ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ™
It's taken 7 weeks of serious hard work to get 180 back to 5 reps, and the first 5 weeks sucked absolute balls ๐Ÿ˜• Feeling weak, frustrated, but undeterred and remaining determined, even when I was failing after 2 reps ๐Ÿ˜‘
That's the stuff nobody sees: the process. You have to suffer and go through the tough sessions to eventually get to the good ones โœ…

200kg back squat - ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ˜โœ…
First time hitting this weight since Feb 2020 before the pandemic and probably the best looking 200 kilo squat I've ever done ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
Today's session goes down as one of the best ever, no doubt ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Focus, intensity, strength and hype were all through the roof and the numbers we both put up showed that ๐Ÿš€
I can't put into words how hard trying to get our squat numbers back up to 2019 numbers has been, so I owe a massive thanks to for continuing in making me believe I can do more ๐Ÿ™ the man is the personification of hype ๐Ÿ˜‚
I'm ready for bed now, but a night of PTs with my awesome clients is about to go down ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Seeing as a lot of people are trying to get back into their pre-pandemic shape and lose some weight, I figured my own journey could be a good source of inspiration for you on yours ๐Ÿค—

I went back through my IG and I haven't done a post about my weight loss journey, the 8 stone loss, or anything "I used to be fat" in well over 3 years, so I don't think I'm repeating myself too much with this today ๐Ÿ˜‚
A lot of you never knew me as the old me...
In short, I had always been one of the bigger kids at school, then I progressively got more overweight through college, until I reached university and became morbidly obese... ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
I had more stones of weight than I had age - 22 stone at 21 years of age ๐Ÿฅด Not good ๐Ÿ˜ž
I decided to change my life. Managed to lose 8 stone in a year through serious dedication and, well, hard work life you wouldn't believe ๐Ÿ˜–
After I lost the 8 stone, I then started to fix what I had broken during the years of obesity. I looked terrible ๐Ÿ˜‚ Better than before? Of course. But I knew I could continue to change my body and, as a result, hopefully everything else in my life โ†—๏ธ
Lots of trial and error later, I became a personal trainer, started bodybuilding training, and began that journey ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป
Without dragging this on... Trust me on this, if I can do it; you can, too. Anyone can โœ…
I'm yet to meet anyone lazier than I was at 21 ๐Ÿ˜‚ Losing weight fixed everything ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป I became a far better version of myself, with everything changing - from motivation to figure out what career to go down, to going out enjoying life and trying new things. It was a complete rebirth - as cringe as that sounds ๐Ÿ™
If you're obese or overweight now, believe me, you have no idea what you can look and feel like. Seeing into the future is difficult, but I'm proof of what is achievable if you dedicate yourself to the goal ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Main goal is to just drop some more body fat and get my delts and triceps popping way more than this ๐Ÿš€
Despite having no calves, they are easily the leanest part of my body - football once a week for you that โšฝ
Glad I haven't lost any size, but definitely time to get back to looking good in all lighting again - not just anabolic, flattering lighting ๐Ÿ’ก
