Barclays Free Park Tennis, Hadleigh Free Park Tennis is a new programme that gives more people the chance to play tennis, offering fun, social tennis sessions at a local park court near you.

Sessions are free for all ages and abilities, running from 10-11am every Saturday.

The weather just about held to allow the first Free Park Tennis at John Burrows to occur. Thank to you Jonathan & Bea for volunteering first as “Activators”. We are looking for some more volunteers to run this session weekly so if helping others and giving back to the community interests you please message us. You don’t need to even be good at Tennis! Our next session will be 2nd August. See you then!

FAQs
1. Are there any toilets?
Yes. Toilets can be found locally in John H Burrows Recreation Ground
2. Is there plenty of parking?
Yes
3. What do I need to wear?
Comfortable clothing so you can move easily, ensuring suitable footwear (no flipflops, sliders, open toed sandals).
4. What do I need to bring?
A responsible adult if you are under 13yrs of age. Suitable footwear and clothing. Any drinks/snacks you may need.
5. What about equipment?
All equipment is provided: racquets, balls, courts.
6. But I've never played tennis. Can I still come?
Absolutely. Free Park Tennis is about game play, there can be some competitive rallies (depending on the players), but it's about using ball skills, coordination, energy, handling a racquet. We do fun rallies but we don't play matches.
7. But I'm not good at catching a ball, can I still come?
Yes! There's no reason not to come. The games may help you learn. It's all about fun, fun and fun in the community. People work at their own level, whether it's beginners, advanced or intermediate. You choose the ball, the racquet, the courts you want to play with. All will be explained in the briefing at the session.

Following the amazing success of FREE PARK TENNIS over on Canvey Island we are delighted to announce this initiative will operate at John H Burrows Tennis Courts in Hadleigh from the 19th July (this weekend!) too

We will initially run the FREE session EVERY 2 Weeks on a SATURDAY 10-11am, all welcome.

All equipment, balls & activity will be provided. We simply ask you wear a suitable pair of shoes to the session, e.g trainers. Please no sandals/flip-flops,crocs etc.

Under 13s must be accompanied by their adult

It's FREE. It's FUN. It's for EVERYONE. See you on court!
