Tintwistle Cricket Club was formed in 1835 and is located on Speedwell in the village of Tintwistle. Tintwistle (or 'Tinsle' as pronounced by villagers) is located in the High Peak district at the western end of the Longendale Valley. We currently run two senior teams, both who play on Saturdays (and Sundays for Cup Games), and four junior teams (under 17's, under 15's, under 13's & under 11's). A

ll teams play in the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League. Our First XI play in the Division One of the DCCL. We have fantastic practice facilities and warmly welcome new members whatever your standard. Interested parties should note that senior practice is held on the ground on Thursday evenings during the summer. Indoor winter nets usually begin in February\March in the run up to the start of the season and are usually held at one of the local schools. If you're interested in coming along please contact us and get in touch with the club captains. We're always interested in hearing from new players. We also have a strong junior section managed by qualified coaches and hold dedicated weekly coaching evenings during the summer. Parents should note that it is our aim to introduce cricket to a wide range of young people and that children of all ages are welcome to attend our coaching sessions.

๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ Match Round up Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June ๐Ÿ

๐Ÿ 1st Team
๐Ÿ†š Dove Holes
๐Ÿ“Dove
๐Ÿช™ Tintwistle Won toss and elected to bat
๐Ÿ’ฏDove win

After a brilliant start to the season for the 1st team a bit of a reality check on Saturday against a very good Dove side. We travelled to Dove top of the league looking forward to a top of the table clash. Not much to report other than we were bowled out very cheaply and our hosts knocked off the runs for the loss of just 2 wickets.

Good chats with the Dove lads after the game and we wish them well for the season.

๐Ÿ 1st Team
๐Ÿ†š Broadbottom
๐Ÿ“Broadbottom
๐Ÿช™ Tintwistle Won toss and elected to bowl
๐Ÿ’ฏTinsel win, Charlie 4-22 Malik 3- 14, Kilano 51* and Harvey 22*

So Sunday saw us return to Broady to replay our Bissenden Qtr Final and a chance to bounce back after Saturday. Tinsel won the toss and decided to bowl.

Broady started solidly but never got away with Max and Will opening up and bowling well. A top run out and then a partnership spell of bowling from Charlie and Malik totally changed the game. We bowled and fielded as well as I have seen this season and after a final wicket partnership Max came back and took the final wicket to see Broady all out for 108.

These smaller totals can be tricky and after losing the 2 openers cheaply there were a few gitters. Harvey moving up to 3 and Kilano soon settled the nerves with a 94 run partnership. Harvey played a really mature innings to support Kilano whoโ€™s class shone through again and he sealed the victory and his 50 with a 6 down the ground.

Broady were class as always after the game sharing a beer, a good laugh and plenty of best wishes for the next round. Draw we believe tonight ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ 2nd Team
๐Ÿ†š High Lane 2nd XI
๐Ÿ“Speedwell
๐Ÿ’ฏ Tinsel win. HL 118 AO Birdy 3-26, Fez 3-26 TCC 122-7 Oscar 29 and Connor 18*

With another win and results going our way elsewhere the 2s returned to the top of Div 3 on Saturday.

Bowling first the boys again restricted the visitors to 118 with Birdy taking another 3 and Tyler also chipping in with an impressive 3 wickets.

Tinsel lost regular wickets in the chase but a solid partnership between Oscar and Connor pushed us close to finish and a few boundaries from Noah and the winning runs from Harry saw us over the line.

3rd team lost to Mottram on the road on Sunday.
