Tintwistle Cricket Club Welcome to Tintwistle Cricket Club, members of the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League.. Welcome to Tintwistle Cricket Club.

Tintwistle Cricket Club was formed in 1835 and is located on Speedwell in the village of Tintwistle. Tintwistle (or 'Tinsle' as pronounced by villagers) is located in the High Peak district at the western end of the Longendale Valley. We currently run two senior teams, both who play on Saturdays (and Sundays for Cup Games), and four junior teams (under 17's, under 15's, under 13's & under 11's). A

ll teams play in the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League. Our First XI play in the Division One of the DCCL. We have fantastic practice facilities and warmly welcome new members whatever your standard. Interested parties should note that senior practice is held on the ground on Thursday evenings during the summer. Indoor winter nets usually begin in February\March in the run up to the start of the season and are usually held at one of the local schools. If you're interested in coming along please contact us and get in touch with the club captains. We're always interested in hearing from new players. We also have a strong junior section managed by qualified coaches and hold dedicated weekly coaching evenings during the summer. Parents should note that it is our aim to introduce cricket to a wide range of young people and that children of all ages are welcome to attend our coaching sessions.

I believe the bar is still open if you fancy a pre BH drink. I think Luke is now fully clothed so it’s safe to return πŸ˜‚πŸΊ

Rain stop play πŸ›‘ !! Not at a Tornettoes Pink Stumps Festival 🏏. Amazing day dipping in and out of the showers getting the games on. Raising money for such a worthy cause Breast Cancer Now. Mottram taking the final against Stalybridge but ultimately the winners today are spotlighting Women’s cricket and raising awareness for such worthy causes. Some pics and a few very special videos which sum up the amazing people we have at this cricket club.

Not how we wanted to achieve it with a washed out game but our 3rd eleven took the Sunday - Tameside division title this morning. To be fair nobody can deny they have been the best team in the division and a massive congrats to Martin and his young side. A fitting way for our skipper to step down from a role he has had for 7 years and give our juniors an amazing platform to move from junior to senior cricket. The 3rds now play Marple CC away in the divisional semi finals.

When one door opens another closes and yesterday’s wash out against Dove Holes saw our very slim chance of winning Division 1 disappear. With 2 games to go we will be looking to finish strong and secure a top 3 position, something we are all very proud of. At Christmas for many reason we were many peoples favourites for relegation so we are really pleased with what has been achieved so far.

Finally our 2s have 2 games to try and wrestle division 3 from Hazel Groves grasp. A last game of the season decider on the cards which I think will be a fair way for the title to be decided.

So before this weekend all 3 senior men’s teams in the title mix up, not to shabby. Hope the rain stays off for the T20 finals day and our ladies softball festival πŸ’šπŸ€πŸπŸ˜ŽπŸΊ
