Another fantastic Open Day at Haddington Tennis Club 🎾

Our 2026 event saw hundreds of people join us at our courts in Neilson Park and the weather held out perfectly 🌈 Great to have Tennis Scotland join us for the afternoon too.

Thanks to everyone who made it along to the courts for a hit, for taking part in the competitions and for getting stuck into the cakes! A big thank you to the committee and helpers for pulling things together to make it such a success.

Calling all members! The new tennis season is here and the next round of the HTC box league is now available for entry:

🎾 Step 1: Go to the LTA website lta.org.uk
Go to the LTA competitions section.
Log in using your LTA Member login.
Find the "Box League" section, either by clicking the link in your dashboard or by searching for the league name.

🎾 Step 2: Enter the league
Once you've found the league, click the green "Enter" icon.
Select the box league you want to join.
Agree to the terms and conditions by selecting "Yes" and click "Save".
You should see a confirmation screen and receive a thank you email.

🎾 Step 3: Wait for confirmation and match generation
The league organizer will need to accept your entry.
Once your entry is accepted, you will receive an email with your league, opponents, and their contact details.

We'll set up WhatsApp groups to make it easier for you to contact your opponents and arrange matches.

🎾 Teams Update 2026🎾

Last year Haddington Tennis Club had a fantastic season of competitive tennis:

- In the East of Scotland League, our men's team came top of their division and will be promoted for the coming season.
- In the East Lothian mixed doubles league, we had similar success. Our first team came top of the table and will move up into the top division this year while our second team played some fantastic tennis, especially some of our juniors!

To continue on the success of last year we plan to submit two men's teams in the East of Scotland league this year as well as a joint women's team with Dunbar Tennis Club. If you are interested in taking part in this league, please contact Jack Booker through WhatsApp or at [email protected] before 9th February.

The league will run from the week commencing 20 April 2026 for approximately 10 weeks. Men's matches will take place on Wednesday evenings, while women's matches will take place on Tuesday evenings. It is the intention that women's matches will take place at Dunbar so as not to interfere with our social tennis sessions.This league is played across the East of Scotland, so there are travel requirements inherent in taking part, please be aware of this before putting your name forward.

We encourage junior players to consider taking part in this league as it presents a fantastic opportunity to play on a variety of surfaces and against a range of players of different abilities. Juniors will, however, need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian for away fixtures.

We hope lots of you will consider giving it a go and we look forward to another fantastic season of tennis.

Singles Box League 🎾

Calling all “yellow-ball” players. Are you interested in playing some friendly singles matches with other HTC members? Do you want to improve your game while gaining more experience of friendly but competitive singles?

We're setting up a mixed gender “box league” which gives members the chance to play several matches against others of a similar standard within a generous time period.

The default match format will be the “Fast 4” one i.e. best of 3 sets and only 4 games per set, however by arrangement players can opt to play full sets.

We hope to get the league running within the next couple of weeks with completion by the end of the year.

Haddington Tennis Club 2025 Championships 🎾

If you'd like to enter, please let Doug know before Friday 11th July (check your email inbox for Doug's contact details):

• Women's singles
• Men's singles
• Women's doubles
• Men's doubles
• Mixed doubles (new for 2025)

The draws will be made at Social tennis on Saturday 12th July.

• All adult competitions are best of 3 sets, each set to 6 (must be 2 games ahead, tie break at 6 all).
• Players can start to play matches as soon as the draw is published after 12th July.
• Mixed doubles final will be held on Saturday 30th August, Men's and Women's doubles finals on Sunday 31st August.
• Men's and Women's Singles finals will be held Sunday 7th September.

Jonathan will organise the junior competitions nearer to finals day.
