Just over 3 weeks till the Falkirk Cross Country where we hope to get a large turnout of Haddington Juniors in the U/13 and over age groups taking part. ( all juniors born before 31/08/2014 ).
The closing date for entries is next Thursday so we need to know by Wednesday names for those who would like to join their clubmates at what is arguably the highlight of the Scottish XC season.
The club will pay entry fees so let us know if interested or any questions.
Open to all who are old enough even if you haven't done much cross country. It will be a great experience.

Haddington Junior Emily Atkinson took part in last Saturday's Scottish Athletics Inter District Cross Country Championships at Alexandra Park in Glasgow.
This is where the top U/13, U/15 and U/17 athletes from each of the 3 Scottish Districts ( East, North and West ) compete to see which District Team are crowned Scottish District Champions.
The races are also open to club athletes who want to test themselves against the best cross country runners in their age groups.
Emily ran in the U/17 Girls race in her red and white Haddington vest and stayed with the strong leading pack until the last lap where she took the lead and stormed home to win the race and finish top of the podium.
Well Done and Congratulations to Emily. A fantastic achievement.

Thanks. to Michael for the photos..
p.s. Highlights from the U/17 race in comments below. Look out for number 315 in the Haddington vest.

OUR 2025 U20 HILL RUNNING LEAGUE CHAMPIONS CONFIRMED

The rescheduled Morven race on Saturday finally brought our 2025 league season to a close. The unfortunate clash with the National Short Cross Country at Lanark, thinned out the U20s taking part but those that did benefitted considerably from high scores and the extra 10 bonus points.

That has taken Archie Watters of Springburn up into 2nd place and Sam Robertson of Gala into 4th. However, it wasn't enough to overhaul Rowan Taylor of Lasswade who upgrades his runners-up position from 2024 to reach the 2025 top spot.

For the women, there was no change after Morven so Haddington's Emily Atkinson stays in 1st place and Kirsty Rankine of Gala takes the runners-up slot from Aberdeen's Hania Czebrezcuk by just 2 points.

It's been a record-breaking league season with more participants, completers and ever-presents than ever before. We're already busy planning 2026 incorporating the new "under-even" age groups. Watch this space!

No need to preregister for this one but if you think you might come along let the coaches know and we will have enough club vests and numbers.

Any East District club affiliated to Scottish Athletics is eligible to compete. Only first claim members of these clubs who are members of Scottish Athletics may compete. Any club wishing to compete who is not already a member of the League should contact the League Secretary Alex Jackson at alex@ru...

A fantastic turnout of 5 cross country teams from Haddington Juniors at today's East District Cross Country Relays at Livingston.
The full results should show here

Awesome running from every one of our 15 athletes over the 2.5K course.
Pictured below are our girls teams and our leg 3 boys. I think we got a photo of our U/13 and U/15 boys as well so if anyone has that send it through and we can add it to the post.
Next chance for some cross country fun is Kirkcaldy on Saturday 1st November where our U/11's can take part as well.
