Surrey Open – Important Update

After the recent announcement of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation event taking place on the same weekend (13–14 June), we’ve made the decision to cancel the Surrey Open scheduled for 14 June.

This is not a step back.

It’s a step in support of the sport.

We don’t want athletes forced to choose between events. We don’t want to split brackets. And we don’t want to contribute to calendar clashes in an already busy UK competition scene.

The proximity of the events, combined with the volume of tournaments in the UK right now, makes this the right decision for competitors.

All entries will be fully refunded immediately.

We’re proud of what the Surrey Open represents — professionalism, fairness, and putting athletes first — and this decision reflects exactly that.

Why we don’t use Smoothcomp Live on the day at Surrey Open 👇

We use Smoothcomp for registrations, brackets and results — but on competition day we run a manual paper system.

Why? Because internet drops. Plugs get pulled. Tech fails.

I’ve seen tournaments delayed over an hour because of it — including major events.

At Surrey Open, we care about one thing above all else:

You the competitors!
