After almost a year of inactivity, I thought it was about time to resurrect 'Blackwater Beginners' - the group for novice runners.

I run a 'Couch to 5k' course which costs £50 and consists of 10 sessions spread, typically, over 10 weeks. The sessions are held during the day - please get in contact to find out when and where we meet. To see if it's right for you, there is a FREE introductory session. If you don't like it, you don't pay anything.

I have a qualification as a Leader in Running Fitness with the organisation formerly known as RunEngland now operating as RunTogether. There will be information and support from them for all members.

Remember, running is for everyone!

Another Saturday, another parkrun. This week on 7th November 2015, I'm intending to return to Basingstoke where I set my parkrun pb six and a half years ago! I wonder how close I can get. Would anyone like to join me for my 95th?
Sunday, 8th November sees the Southern Cross Country League's second race of the season at Queen Elizabeth country park just south of Petersfield. It's supposed to be a tough one. I hope to be there, if I can fit it in before work.

After around six months of almost no running due to injury, I'm now back. In the past month I've run distances between 5k and half marathon. On Sat, 31st Oct, I'll be doing Rushmoor parkrun and on Sun, 1st Nov, the first of the very enjoyable Lord Wandsworth's cross country series. Open to all for £5 affiliated, £7 non. As some of you know, I've had a forced lay-off from running for a couple of months now due to sciatica caused by a suspected pr*****ed disc. I've had some excellent physiotherapy along the way and today, I saw the doctor concerning the results of my MRI. The diagnosis was indeed correct but much less severe than was feared. I have plenty of exercises to do, some more physio to 'enjoy' and am now running again, albeit gingerly.

I will make a decision by 2200 on Friday 25th April, as to whether or not I'll be running the Bracknell Half Marathon on Sunday. I went out for a run this morning . . . and it wasn't good!
If anyone is interested in my running number, supposing I am unable to use it, please let me know. I paid just over £20 but for you, I'll let it go for a tenner! ;)
