We just came up short against a strong Forton 2nd team, Foxy 87, Newbs 33 not out, Bully 27, Graham Geary 18.
Bowling highlights Sam Morgan (on debut), Simon Cholmeley & Richard Manby all with a “2fer”… Kev only went for 26 runs!

A defeat under a dark, gloomy sky but heads are held high as the team battled well in the conditions.

Captain's notes: A tough night for the Ravens as we crashed out of the cup losing by 75 runs to a strong Ellesmere team. Jonny continued his top form taking 2-34 and 1 wkt each for HR10, Jamie and Pat as the away team posted an impressive 189-5. Nick and Jonny both scored 35 in a 79 run opening partnership but some tidy bowling pegged us back to 114-4. A good effort against a team from a higher division.

After losing early wickets to a very good opening bowling attack the middle order made a stand to get our total up to secure a batting point. Unfortunately Alberbury Cricket Club was too good for us on the day and knocked off our total in 21 overs.
A stand out performance by Adrian Hudson on his return to the 1st XI with a patient and well executed 51 N.O. Graham Geary also added a quick 17 N.O to help secure the batting point, Pat Buckingham taking a 3fer and a special thank you to Natalie Barrett for dropping everything and joining us to make the numbers up, she boldly faced 2 balls on her first time out to the crease.

A second and well needed win of the season after some close games going against us the last few weeks.

Captain's notes: Second win of the season as we posted an impressive 195-2 and won by 34 runs. Jonny and Foxy both 50 retired N.O. Keith Sambrook, 30 N.O. and Nick Russell, 22 kept the scoreboard ticking over. Jonny 3-24 and 2 wkts each for Sam Morgan , Jamie Hayley and Nick. Paceman Gilo Morgan cleaned up the tail as Prees were 161 all out. The champagne moment was Keith taking an outstanding diving, one handed catch behind. Nick with his mixed variation also kept Foxy amused.

Thank you to Prees Sports and Social Club for hosting a good game. Everyone in our team commented on how friendly and well spirited you all are.

A gloomy day under dark clouds and light showers of rain! Overs reduced to 30 due to expected rain.
The Wellington batters held strong and only lost a few wickets finishing with a decent total. The Reynald started off well on the chase but had a flurry of dismissals leaving the lower order to make a stand. Clawing some batting points out of the jaws of defeat.
Notable mention goes to Foxy for 50 odd Not Out.
