Today's darts events at The Tungsten Inn Leagues in Grimsby featured competitive matches across both Monday League 1 and Monday League 2, with significant shifts in standings for some players.
Monday League 1 saw Jim Janney maintaining his top position after two solid victories, defeating Timmy Bruce 4-0 and Owen Baines 4-1, bringing his points to 12. Jordan Smith had an impressive day, climbing three positions to second place after securing wins against Seth Vickers and Tom Pickard, both with a 4-0 score. Jason Blackburn, who started the day in second place, dropped to third despite a win against Timmy Bruce, as his earlier match against George Jewitt ended in a 4-2 victory. Ben Jensen made a significant leap from ninth to fourth, following a 4-2 win over Owen Baines and a 4-0 victory against Peter Selby. Alex Vase improved his standing to fifth after a win against George Jewitt and a draw with Paul Smith, who slipped to sixth. Timmy Bruce and Owen Baines both experienced downturns, with Timmy dropping to seventh and Owen falling to tenth. Charlie Hewson's performance, including a win over Peter Selby and draws with Seth Vickers and Paul Smith, moved him up two places to eleventh. Peter Selby also advanced two positions to thirteenth, despite mixed results. At the bottom, George Jewitt slipped to fifteenth after two losses.
In Monday League 2, Gordon Longhurst ascended to the top of the standings with a crucial 4-2 win over Dobby Stevens and a 4-1 victory against Danny Woods, increasing his points to 11. Graham Field moved up two places to second after a resounding 4-0 win against Dave East, although he was defeated by Craig Storr, who rose to fifth after a perfect 4-0 victory over both Graham Field and Bethany Westerman. Danny Woods climbed to third place with a win over Adam Jessop, but his loss to Longhurst affected his standing. Billy Thomas, despite not playing, fell to fourth as other players accumulated points. Tommy Bruce improved his position to seventh following two strong performances against Sally Bruce and Dave East. Dobby Stevens moved up one spot to tenth after splitting his matches, winning against Michael Dent but losing to Longhurst. Michael Dent and Adam Jessop both climbed the standings, with Dent moving to eleventh and Jessop to twelfth. At the bottom, Bethany Westerman and Sally Bruce remained in the last two positions, with neither managing to secure a win.
