Our Saturday junior coaching sessions are fun, inclusive and full of energy - led by an extremely talented coaching team who make every child feel welcome on court.

The first step onto the court is sometimes the hardest… but our engaging sessions are the perfect place to begin your tennis journey. This is where confidence grows, friendships form, and skills start to shine.

For 99% of our juniors, Saturday coaching is the pathway into matchplay, team tennis, and even County Tennis selection. It all starts right here.

💛 If your child is thinking about trying tennis, Saturdays are the perfect place to begin - and we also run a Parent Cardio Tennis session at the same time as our Mini Red session, so grown‑ups can get active too.

🎾 St James Juniors at the Lindum Lincolnshire Festival of Tennis 💙💛

What a week in Boston for our St James Juniors - 20 St James members competing across multiple age groups, showing resilience, teamwork and some truly fantastic tennis.

Most of our juniors travelled over for several days, dealt with rain delays, road‑work detours and long schedules… yet still produced brilliant performances. Every match brought a new challenge, and they represented the club with pride from first ball to last.

Joe & Ezra - 18U Doubles runners‑up after a nail‑biting match decided by an 11–9 tie‑break (after a second‑set tie‑break!).
Some brilliant rallies, aces and down‑the‑line winners from both players all week and the second runners‑up doubles trophy for Joe from the 16U earlier in the week.

🌧️ A Long, Rain‑Soaked Day at the Lindum Lincolnshire Festival of Tennis - But the St James Spirit Never Faltered!

Five hours of torrential rain heavily impacted play today at Boston Tennis Club, but it didn’t deter the St James gang one bit. Armed with card games, patience, and plenty of determination, they made the most of every moment - once courts became available indoors, they were quick to show off their hard work with some brilliant rallies and competitive matches.

Sometimes the results don’t go our way, but the effort never drops. The indoor viewing area and big screen kept everyone entertained while waiting for courts, and for many of our players it turned into a very long 12‑hour day.

A huge thank you to Richard and the fantastic Boston staff for running such a well‑organised day despite the weather undoing so much of their hard work. 💙💛

- Teo - Another great day at his first County Champs, bravely playing up an age group in the U18 Boys Singles. Facing a tough opponent this afternoon he worked hard to stay in the match. Back tomorrow for the consolation semi‑final.💪🏼

- Oli - A packed week playing up an age group in both U16 Singles & Doubles on Mon and Tue - the largest draws of the Championships. Knocked out in the doubles quarter‑final on a tie‑break and battled hard in the singles. Today he fought through the U14 Singles and Doubles and returns tomorrow for the U14 Doubles semi‑final. 💪🏼

- Will - A busy start to the week stepping up to U16 Singles and Doubles . Today he competed in the U14 Singles and Doubles, winning the U14 Doubles consolation. He’s back tomorrow for the U14 Singles consolation semi‑final. 🤞🏼

Glen & Josh battling Uno while waiting for courts - Rain interrupted Josh's first‑round U14 singles match, but once play resumed he secured the win before bowing out in the next round. In doubles he battled all the way to the consolation final. Great work, Josh! 💪🏼

Halfway through the Lindum Lincolnshire Festival of Tennis and what a week it’s been! 🎾

It’s been fantastic seeing so many of the St James gang in Boston - brilliant tennis, tie‑break battles, huge courtside support, and plenty of proud moments. Coach Mark and Coach Dom have also been down this week and it’s been their pleasure to watch all the hard work of our players shine through across every match.

One of the best parts has been seeing players meet up with friends they’ve made through County Training, league tennis, and tournaments - reconnecting with familiar faces, supporting each other, and showing exactly what makes junior tennis so special.

- Serena - her first tournament 💪🏼, playing up an age group too 👏🏼 tough matches, and Reds still to come on Friday.

- Sofia - playing up a year, two strong wins, and Reds to follow on Friday.

- Izzy - finished 3rd with three wins; narrowly missed runner‑up after a tight 10–8 loss. Her 10U event is coming up on Friday.

- Noah - first Champs, tough group to start, then picked up a couple of great wins. Fantastic work Noah! 👏🏼👏🏼

🎾 Junior Highlights - They’ve Been Everywhere!

Our juniors haven’t just been on court… they’ve been everywhere.

Tournaments, matchplays, summer sessions, Club Championships - you name it, they’ve turned up with rackets swinging and energy to spare.

Big efforts from our younger players stepping up age groups and taking on tougher draws.

Strong results across local and regional events, with plenty of tight matches and gritty wins.

Brilliant commitment from everyone who’s trained and competed through the heat. 🔥

The progress has been unreal - confidence growing, match experience building, and lots of proud moments for the club.

- Oliver - ⭐Runner up at Leeds, producing strong tennis throughout the event and showing great composure in a tough draw. He also received a Fair Play Medal, recognised for his attitude, sportsmanship, and the way he carries himself on court - a brilliant achievement that reflects everything we value at St James.

Onwards to the Lindum Lincolnshire Festival of Tennis next week - we’re looking forward to seeing so many of our St James players represent the club with pride.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 12th August, we’ll have the perfect view of the solar eclipse as it lines up with another of our stunning St James sunsets and Evening Adult Coaching which is open to members and non members

7:30pm-9:00pm
£10 / £8 members

Our courts open straight onto the western sky, giving you a calm, spacious spot to enjoy the colours and the eclipse safely.

Bring eclipse glasses if you have them and feel free to share your photos or tag the club - we’d love to see everyone’s view of this rare moment. 🌘
