Buzzing down at the Club's first of the year open men's Tuesday night Tennis! All courts full and a great atmosphere with some great tennis!
Format is play 30 minutes and switch courts to ensure everyone gets maximum play. Starts at 7:00 each Tuesday from now until the autumn.

The GTC Annual Closed Tournament 2025…

Despite the weather being unpredictable during the earlier rounds, yesterday evening the weather was perfect.

Played out in the very best of spirits in balmy condition the crowd who attended witnessed some fantastic points with breathtaking rallies, a smattering of aces and the odd volley, the matches had everything!!

Friday evening saw the Men's & Ladies Singles Final. The Ladies Doubles and Men's Doubles Finals also completed. The Mixed Doubles Final had played out earlier in the week.

Finalists: Winners & Runners Up. 💚🏆💚

Men's Doubles; Jonathan Davies & Richard Emerson beat Adam Wrightam & Gary Archer in a thrilling close fought match. 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 1-0 (10-7)

Ladies Singles. Gabrielle Ellis beat Carol Newbu in a much closer game than the score suggests 6-1, 6-2.

Men's Singles:Trevor Kelly saw off a second set surge by Adam Wrightam and won 6-3, 7-6.

Mixed Doubles: Another very closely catch match saw Jayne Wallace & Tom Daniels beat Christine Campbell - Moore & Paul Cunningham 7-6, 7-5.

Ladies Doubles; Gabrielle Ellis & Julie MacGregor beat Carol Newby & Lorraine George in a very competitive match 6-3, 6-4.

Thanks go to all the competitors, the crowd for their support, Allan Thompson for organising.

Annual Closed Tennis Tournament 2025
Entries are now invited for the Annual Closed Tournament!
The Annual Closed Tournament is to be held between 8th September and 19th September. No matches will be scheduled during the middle weekend.

Hopefully, these dates will avoid family holidays! Although, there will be some flexibility to rearrange matches in early rounds, entrants must ensure they are available to play the Finals of each event as they will not be
rescheduled to avoid personal calendar conflicts.
