Today some of our children have been learning water safety skills and especially the importance of how how to swim and float in clothes.

Why It Is Important

●Panic Prevention: Being submerged in clothes creates a sudden, "staggering" weight that can cause even strong swimmers to panic and drown. Familiarity reduces this "fear and hysteria".
●Managing Weight & Drag: Wet clothing—especially heavy items like jeans, sweatshirts, and sneakers—significantly increases resistance and makes staying afloat much harder.
●Survival Skills: It teaches children to adapt their movements, such as rolling to a back float or treading water, while under the physical strain of wet fabric.
