I wish all the lads good luck in their new teams or new ventures. It has been a pleasure to see all the lads progress ⚽️ Thanks again for all being fantastic parents and making my time as manager enjoyable ⚽️ Thanks also for the generous gift & card and to Matt & Oz for all the time you put into The Jets! ✈️

It's possibly going to come as no surprise to some closer to me that I'm having to make one of the hardest decisions I've made..

Regarding Discoveries Jets unfortunately, I've made the decision to leave our football team.

Various reasons, mainly due to time, family and work. Both other coaches are stepping away, meaning someone really needed to step in and take on a massive role in coaching, support and match attendance. Unfortunately it's not come to fruition.

This is not a decision that was taken lightly, if we turn the clocks back to the time I was handed the team (very unexpectedly I add!) I wouldn't change anything about that. I want to personally thank every player, coach, parents, supporter, and sponsors who have been part of this journey, all the way from u8s.

Your passion, dedication, and team spirit would not have existed without your support. Whether it be lifts, advice, fundraising, support on and off the pitch. The list will be endless.

It has been a pleasure to watch the players grow and develop, we've seen players go to Top Orange league and beyond, playing for one of the top teams in the region, playing with more friends made.

I wish all the lads good luck in wherever their next journey takes them and they continue to play the beautiful game. Whether it be continuing under a new manager/coach here or continuing on to more teams all over Grimsby/Cleethorpes.

While this chapter is coming to a close, the memories we’ve made and friendships will remain. I hope to continue seeing you all with Facebook updates of all the lads winning more matches, POM awards, trophies and medals.

I'm sorry if this has come as a shock, the majority factor will always be my commitment becoming less due to the factors mentioned earlier.

Our last presentation will take place on the 2nd July.

Penultimate game of the season for the Jets, but another loss. We've not had a good run of results this end of the season so we obviously have alot to work on. But the lads are staying in top spirits to see out the league and the remaining Trophy Events we have before the season end.

Most improved goes to Jacob. Quiet but collective Jacob is a new addition this January. Holding his position well he's tracking back promptly and choosing his defending perfectly. Knowing when to play safe and when to take on the challenge of moving the ball forward, well done Jacob ⚽🏆

Player of the Match goes to Alex. Absolute star in any position we try him in, whether it be attacking midfield, defending mid or a center back, Alex just gets on with the job at hand with 110% effort, a mindset we should all aim to achieve. Well done Alex ⚽🏆

A frustrating end to the year as the Jets lost out on points again. Grimsby United a clear better team on the day, pouncing on our mistakes and making them count. They came in low numbers and with injuries but kept their heads high and played great football.

A break for the Xmas period and hopefully come back rested and determined for the remainder of the season ⚽

Most improved goes to Ethan, a strong LB never scared or shy to put the tackles in, but also knowing when to hold up the attacking play, when to move and where to move to, Ethan stopped many advances with quick decision making, well done Ethan ⚽🏆

Player of the match goes to Henley. A strong defensive midfielder, Henley is confident when in search of the ball and a pass. Today we asked him to do a job up top, supporting our striker. A job he did brilliantly, confidently and to perfection. Supporting the striker let them go forward much quicker and more frequent, well done Henley ⚽🏆

The lads had a fab time at Racks Pool & Sports Bar for the annual Xmas do! 🎄Well deserved after all the efforts put into the Winter season! ⚽️

A classy performance from the opposition gave us another fight to come from behind and grab a draw, top football from Dragons today, both teams deserving of the result.

Most improved today goes to Harrison, warm up brought out a ni**le in his knee and he opted to start as our only sub today, coming on after 15 mins he didn't stop running for the remaining 55. Supporting forwards with crosses and thru balls, but always tracking back to help out with the back line, well done Harrison 🏆

Player of the match easily goes to Alex today. Asked to man mark out the biggest threats, Alex played his role with ease. Always tight with his players, choosing and deciding early which play to make to support the team. Second half played out differently, so Alex took it upon himself to be the threat this time, forcing the opposition into mistakes with great pressure forwards and back, top performance Alex 🏆

Tough strong competition today from the league leaders. Clee put up a good fight, but so did we. A change in tactics and focus, the lads all perfected their roles with ease. Looks like we can look forward to more tactical formation changes in the future!

Most improved today goes to Jude, he was outstanding today as one of the 3 CB's. He played with great maturity and authority. His tackles we're strong, firm and perfectly timed. Todays performance is what jude could be capable of week in week out. This performance today gained us a well-deserved draw against a strong attacking Clee Team

Managers Player goes to Harry N. Strong in his usual role up top today, but with the support of another striker. He was asked to stay high and play off the defenders' shoulders, getting in behind and running the channels.
Harry absolutely ran his socks off, not giving up on any balls played through as well as chasing down defenders whilst the opposition tried to play out from the back.
Thoroughly deserved today, not forgetting he also scored our equaliser against a very tough organised opposition.

We tried but failed, a poor first half performance gave us too much of mountain to climb in the second. Titans played easy simple football, strong offensive and a solid back line meant we just couldn't get going at all.

Managers player today goes to Kaelub. Kaelub today was keeping his head up, still pushing the entire game and had suggestions at half time. Still trying to raise the team spirit, never giving up. Pushing forward trying to support the forwards, always dropping back to keep the defensive line strong. Well done Kaelub 🏆

We go again, hopefully with a more positive outlook ⚽

Jets are back on League duties, having a postponed match last weekend, but we're back with a bang. Opponents definitely fighting to the last seconds, really keeping their heads up the whole game.

New trophies today, imagined and sourced by our very own Chief Sideline Feedback Officer, manager's Wife. Lad's loved them, being very similar to the Premier Leagues own 👀

Player of the match goes to Preston. Ever so present throughout the match, Preston covers so much of the midfield for us. Calling for the ball, instructing team mates where to be for him and controlling the game when things aren't going our way, well done Preston 🏆

Most improved goes to Alex. After an amazing first half, I told Alex he was doing perfect. Obviously that wasn't good enough for him, as he went on to put in an even more spectacular performance. Very calm on the ball, even under a 3 opponent pressure, collecting himself to get passes away with ease, breaking up attacks and being a standout presence. Super game today Alex! 🏆

Well it doesn't happen very often but we bow out of a Cup in the first round. Tough competition played great and capitalised on the mistakes we made. Good luck to Cleethorpes Town Juniors Football Club on the next remaining rounds! ⚽

Coaches Player went to Harrison. We play him on the left wing and left back, sometimes both. Each play he made the right choice, knowing whether to remain back and even further to help defence, holding play, winning tackles, applying pressure, playing safe, but also when to push forward with aggressive runs and determination. 🏆⚽

Most improved goes to Harry N. Whether Harry is scoring hatricks or none at all, nothing stops Harry from aiming towards that goal. Running left to right, supporting wingers and the midfield, Harry runs his legs off each game. Determination and use of the training he receives earns trophies with us. 🏆⚽
