Wow wow wow!! We’ve had such amazing interest in our touch team with over 30 women already signed up for our opening party info night! 😍🫶🏻 (must be just for the cheese & wine! 😛)

We’ve got such a mix of people from mums of our youth players, ex-contact players and people who have never touched a rugby ball before. We can’t wait to all come together and celebrate this next amazing milestone of GWRFC Women’s History!

We’re so excited to launch our brand new Women’s Touch Rugby Team at Greenock Wanderers! 🎉 Kindly funded by the National Lottery 😍

We’ll kick things off from 7–8pm with some fun, beginner-friendly rugby skills - no experience necessary! 🙌

Then from 8pm, it’s time for our Cheese & Wine Social 🧀🍷 where you can meet the team, find out all about our plans and enjoy some cheeseboards and wine with us.

Our Touch Team is for 18+ women who can’t or don’t want to play full-contact rugby. We want to bring the fun, friendship and sense of belonging that comes with being part of a rugby team to a wider audience. And please, do NOT think you’re too old, too unfit or too clueless! 😂❤️

Whether you’ve never picked up a rugby ball before, you currently cheer your child on on the sidelines, or you’re a former player looking for a way back into the game - this team is for you. There’s no required fitness level or rugby experience. Just come along, have fun and give it a go!

🏉 WE’RE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEER COACHES! 🏉

Our Girls Section is growing rapidly, and we’re looking for more people to join our coaching team for the 26/27 season! ❤️💛🖤

You don’t need rugby or coaching experience — we’ll provide the training and support you need.

And importantly, any time you can commit would make a difference. You don’t need to be available for every training session or every game day. Whether you can help regularly, occasionally, or just when you have a spare evening or Sunday morning, we’d love to hear from you!

Help us give the next generation of girls the chance to learn, play and fall in love with rugby. 🏉💪

WE’RE BAAAAACK!!

Our Junior Girls Rugby teams are all back in action this Wednesday (tomorrow) 12th August preparing for the season ahead and we want YOU to come be part of it!

Whether you’ve never touched a rugby ball before or you’ve played before we’ve got the place for you!

Our U10 - U16s teams train 6pm - 7pm at the Battery Park

On Saturday, our 1XV Ladies kicked off the season with a home friendly against Lenzie as part of our club wide opening day!

A fantastic performance from the whole squad, in a well contested match, showcasing the rewards of all the hard work, commitment and effort put in throughout pre-season. 💪🏼

Good luck to all of our players receiving their exam results today 📚

Our senior teams are made up of people from all walks of life - teachers, lawyers, healthcare workers, engineers, doctors, apprentices, students, coaches, business owners and so much more. Every one of them has taken a different path to get where they are today.

A set of exam results has never stopped any of them from going on to achieve incredible things, both on and off the rugby pitch.

So whatever your results today, remember they’re just one moment in your journey, not the final destination. Be proud of how far you’ve come, celebrate your hard work, and keep believing in what’s ahead.

We're super excited to be having an open Come and Try Day for *ALL* young people from P4 - S6 who are interested in finding out more about Rugby and why you should get involved.

Whether you've been before or never even heard of Rugby we would love to see you along at Fort Matilda on 8th August between 1pm and 3pm.

Our trained Coaches will teach you all the basics you need to know and we will also have entertainment for the whole family until 5pm so why not make a day of it. Come along, try it out, find out more about joining and explore the club.

No need to sign up - just come along on the day and join in!

This day is kindly funded by the 2026 Summer of Sport Fund

Well well well Day 1 of pre-season is officially in the books and we were buzzing to see so many new girls along for their first session! We were all too sunburnt and tired for a group pic at the end so here’s a wholesome well done for you all instead.
