Coppélia 2026: dates set for all three venues

Rehearsals are in their final stretch now, nearly a year in the making, and Coppélia is nearly ready to take the stage this November.

This one's bigger than our last few shows. Four performances, three venues, and a brand new take on the version we staged back in 2018.

Here's where to catch it:

Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock: 6 and 7 November
Queens Hall, Dunoon: 14 November
Barrfields, Largs: 21 November

Cinderella in 2024 was our biggest production to date, and we're aiming to beat that with this one. Bethany Kingsley Garner, former principal at Scottish Ballet and our Patron since 2024, has been keeping a close eye on progress too.

Coppélia comes to Barrfields Largs on 21 November

Our dancers have been rehearsing Coppélia for nearly a year now, and Largs gets its turn on 21 November at Barrfields Theatre.

It's one of three venues for this production. The Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock kicks things off on 6 and 7 November, then Queens Hall Dunoon on 14 November, before we land in Largs the week after.

Barrfields has been part of our story since our very first Coppélia back in 2018, and it's brilliant to be bringing the show back there for 2026.

Expect the full cast and corps de ballet, live storytelling through dance, and a night out that's easy to get to if you're anywhere along the Ayrshire coast.

Coppélia 2026: three venues, one big autumn for Alba

Rehearsals have been underway for nearly a year now, and Coppélia is finally close to taking the stage this November.

We're bringing the show to three venues across the west of Scotland, so wherever you are, there's a performance near you.

The Beacon has been part of our story since our very first production back in 2014, so it always feels a bit like coming home when we perform there.

Coppélia 2026: rehearsals are hitting full swing

Nearly a year of hard work is coming together, and our dancers are now deep into the final stretch of rehearsals for Coppélia.

This year's production is a bit different: instead of one venue, we're taking the show on the road to three. You'll be able to catch it at the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock on 6 and 7 November, Queens Hall in Dunoon on 14 November, or Barrfields in Largs on 21 November.

Our Patron, Bethany, has been fully involved since auditions, working closely with the cast on solos, pas de deux, and everything in between. Having performed worldwide as Principal Ballerina with Scottish Ballet, she's bringing real touring experience into the studio with our dancers.

Coppélia comes to Queens Hall Dunoon this November

Rehearsals for Coppélia are in their final stretch, and the cast have been working on this one for nearly a year.

Dunoon audiences will get their chance on 14 November at Queens Hall, right in the middle of our three-venue run this autumn.

We opened at Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock on 6 and 7 November, then head to Barrfields in Largs on 21 November, with Dunoon sitting as the centrepiece date.

Queens Hall has a special place in this story. Our last visit there, back in February 2025, was a postponed show that finally went ahead to a packed house after snow forced us to delay from the previous November.

We're hoping for clearer skies this time. Will you be joining us in Dunoon on the 14th? 🩰

Nearly a Year in the Making: Coppélia 2026 Is Almost Here 🩰

Thousands of hours. One studio. And a cast that has given nearly a year of their lives to bringing Coppélia to the stage this November.

That kind of commitment doesn't happen overnight, and right now, our dancers are in the final stages of rehearsals, tightening every pirouette, every lift, and every storytelling moment before the curtain goes up. Alba Ballet has staged Coppélia before (back in 2018 across Beacon Arts Centre and Barrfields), but this production is a whole new chapter. Going to Your First Ballet? Here's What to Expect 🩰

First time at a ballet performance and not sure what to expect? You're not alone, and honestly, it's simpler (and more magical) than most people think. With our production of Coppelia coming up this November, we thought now was the perfect time to answer the questions we get asked most.

Do I need to dress up? Smart casual is absolutely fine. Can I bring kids? Yes, and Coppelia is a wonderful story they'll love. What if I've never seen a ballet before? No experience needed at all. Our cast has spent nearly a year preparing this production, so from the moment the curtain goes up, the story carries you with it. We're performing at three brilliant venues: Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock on 6 and 7 November, Queens Hall, Dunoon on 14 November, and Barrfields, Largs on 21 November, so there's a date and location to suit everyone across the west of Scotland.

Coppélia 2026: Alba Ballet's Biggest Show Yet 🩰

After nearly a year of hard work in the studio, our cast are in the final stages of rehearsals for Coppélia 2026 and the excitement is absolutely building. This production is shaping up to be the biggest in Alba Ballet's history, and we genuinely mean that. Off the back of Cinderella 2024 (four performances across three venues, which was massive for us), we set out to go even further with Coppélia, and that is exactly what we have done.

This November, we are bringing Coppélia to three incredible venues across Scotland. You can catch the show at the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock on 6 and 7 November, the Queens Hall in Dunoon on 14 November, and Barrfields in Largs on 21 November. Our Patron, Bethany Kingsley Garner (ex-Principal of Scottish Ballet and the People's Ballerina), has been involved throughout rehearsals, helping to shape the cast and bring a level of professional experience that makes this production something really special.
