Season finished 🥳

This season was a tough one, if I’m honest. We needed a win from our last three games to secure our place in Division 2, and thankfully we got the job done. Massive credit to the boys for their efforts and determination to keep their spot, especially considering we’ve been down to the bare bones for months.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved with St Andys Blues for all their hard work throughout the season. A special mention to Lorraine Mcnicol for everything she does behind the scenes, as well as our parents and, of course, the boys for their commitment and effort all year.

Last but certainly not least, a massive thank you to our main sponsors, Liam Martin Gas Services and Ross Wilson Roofing Services. Your continued support is greatly appreciated, and without it, things would be much tougher for the club.

Thank you all for your support, and here’s to an even bigger and better season next year. Bringing in a few more players will be key to keeping this team together and pushing forward, so hopefully we can strengthen the squad over the summer. 💙⚽

Well done Kyle & Connor 👌

We started fast and scored the first goal to go 1-0 up. The boys played well and kept it tight, but you could see Po***ck starting to apply the pressure. They equalised and then went on to score a second.

Not long after, Lee had to come off injured and we knew then we’d be up against it.

Massive shoutout to every single boy last night — an outstanding effort from the team, especially having to play with 10 men for most of the game. Brilliant work rate, attitude, and commitment from everyone involved. Proud of every one of the boys 👏

A massive thank you to our main sponsors, Liam Martin Gas Services and RW Roofing Services, for their continued support 👏

Thursday night was the Blues’ final training session, so we made sure the boys had a fun one! ⚽💙

We finished the night with a couple of penalty shootouts and mixed the teams up:

Team 1
Arnav
Zander
Adam
Aiden
Liam

Team 2
Ryan
Louie
Kyle
Matthew
Lee

Team 2 won the first shootout 🏆
Team 1 won the second shootout 🏆

The deal was simple — whichever team lost had to do the gym skin shoulder roll 😂

For anyone that hasn’t seen it, you’ll watch the original gymskin on Tik Tok 😂😂👌

I put together the two videos below… enjoy! 😂😂😂

Brilliant result for the boys yesterday — always special winning a wee derby, and a massive win to keep the team in Division 2 💪

Now all we need is a few new signings and we’ll be all set for the new season kicking off after our last league game against Pollok on the 23rd of this month.

👏 Congratulations to the boys on a fantastic result in the final derby between the two sides. It was a close and competitive match from start to finish.

The Blues started brightly and took the lead through Arnav, who finished well at the back post after a superb delivery from Kyle following a corner.

The Whites responded immediately after capitalising on a mistake, with Austin finishing neatly after a great through ball to make it 1-1.

The Blues regained the lead when Matthew’s shot deflected kindly into the path of Aiden Cannon, who calmly slotted home to put us 2-1 ahead.

Once again, the Whites fought back, this time through Kevin, who fired an excellent strike from outside the box to level the game at 2-2.

With the game finely balanced, the Blues dug deep. After a corner was cleared, the ball fell to Liam Duddy, who found the bottom-left corner with a brilliant finish to make it 3-2.

To seal the victory, Matthew Anderson produced a moment of magic, lobbing the keeper from 30 yards out to finish the game 4-2 to the Blues.

Credit to Tommy and his team for a great battle today. We wish him all the best in his new role, and also wish the boys moving on to new clubs every success for the future. It would also be great to see some of the lads who are currently without a club come along and join the Blues. Rivalries aside, St Andys has provided a fantastic platform for boys to play and enjoy their football for many years.

A huge thank you, as always, to our sponsors for their continued support:
