So we had two of our boys competing at the MTB show and they worked hard and very proud of them.
First up we had our Garry Rodgers who put on the performance of his life and won every round but crazy enough he didn't get the win. Watched his fight over and over and still cant figure out why his hand wasnt raised as the winner of that bout. Garry has worked extremely hard doing extra classes helping others better themselves and eats sleeps and drinks Mauy Thai, thats how committed he is and when you get results like that it can be disheartening but our Garry is already pushing for his next fight.

Second up is Young Aaron Kelly who also puts the hard work in and never misses a class. Aaron went into this fight prepared and his match up was a young ripped athlete who just had that extra strength and it made the difference in the fight. Aaron wasn't fazed by that and stepped in that ring with the same mind set to win but unfortunately it wasn't his day. He is a good strong boy and we all know he will be back stronger and fitter for his next adventure..

I would also like to thank Aaron Salom and sean taylor for all the extra help in in class and also at the fight shows. I couldnt have asked for a better team of athletes and as a coach im very proud of you all.

Kids class is off tonight! Due to repairs being made in the gym and won't be ready in time for juniors. if any juniors want to attend adults class that would be great.

So firstly I would like to thank Cha Linnen for putting up a fantastic show and all the people who helped make it possible👏👏👏 Some really good fights yesterday from the junior show and the adult show. Assassins had two juniors competing and both boys put their heart into it.

Starting with young Aaron Kelly who has been outstanding with his training and then bringing it to the ring. Aaron who was fighting an opponent 2 years older and held his own for the full 5 rounds. Unfortunately he didn't get the decision but he moves on and is already looking forward to go again. As a coach I couldn't have asked for more as he always gives his all and everyone is proud of him.

Young Garry Rodgers has came into the club, his work rate has been phenomenal and the change in him has been noticeable to everyone at Assassins. Garry has pushed himself hard in training and yesterday he stepped in the ring for the first time to compete and compete is exactly what he did.. Garry got his first win by a split decision. Fantastic effort young man. He went in, he listened and he got his first medal in a hard fought battle. Both fighters should be proud of the effort they put into it. Well done young man 👏👏🥇

On to the senior show.
Unfortunately it wasn't our night.

Let’s start with Matthew Sweeney who stepped in and took the fight on in 4 days notice. Matthew was the first senior of the night to step in and compete against a towering opponent. Unfortunately at the start of his fight the lad caught him with a good knee to the liver and Matthew couldn't continue. To step in and compete in such short notice is a win on its own and he should be proud of himself as we are as a club.

2nd fight for our seniors is our very own Sean Taylor. When Sean joined our club he was feeling anxious about entering a new environment, he has since built a bond with the club members and has come right out his shell. Fantastic lad and his performance last night was was nothing short of outstanding. Sean went 4 rounds and got stopped late in the 4th round on what was a battle. Sean has so much heart and determination to succeed and doesn't know the words “give up”. His opponent was very fast but didn't faze our Sean as he just keeps going. Bright future ahead, very dedicated boy.

Aaron Salom the effort this boy puts in everyday is nothing short of outstanding. Aaron works his socks of everyday in training so he can compete on nights like this. Last night he fought a very big opponent but it didn't stop Aaron as he stepped in and went for it. Unfortunately Aaron lost late in the first round by TKO but credit to his opponent who is a big heavy hitter and caught Aaron with a few of them. Big boy, big hitter and it's hard to come back from that but our Aaron did 3 times until the ref decided. As a coach, I'm proud of how far he's come and I look forward to his next chapter..

Well done to all who competed, thank you to Craig Stewart and young Garry Rodgers for helping on the night. Anarchy is a fantastic show and well organised. Our fighter look forward to competing again in such a great show👏👏👏

All fights confirmed for october 11th for our lads at the Anarchy show! Thank you to Anarchy for having the boys onto your show and given them a platform to showcase their skills on a very good show. We have 2 juniors and 3 adults who have all worked very hard to get on to this show. In the day show we have young Aaron kelly who is having his first junior fight, this young man deserves a lot of credit for how far he has come from when he first walked into the gym.
Next we have young Gary Rodgers another young boy stepping in for his first fight in the ring. Gary has more than shown he is ready to take this opportunity and hopefully the first of many for both boys.
In the night show we have 3 adults fighting with Sean Taylor stepping in for his first N class fight, Sean been one of the hardest workers in the gym sean had a very good experience at the icos and is a student who always wants to learn and evolve his Thai boxing skills.
Toby McCrossan coming in for his second N class fight after having a small bit of time away from the sport due to work commitments and has come back sharper and looks very good, excited for this young mans return!
Lastly we have Aaron Salom who is stepping back in after having his first K1 bout in august. Now looking to gain some more experience in his first Thai fight also at N class Another hard worker in the gym who has worked his socks off for this opportunity!
