Your generous donation of rolls helped make our annual celebration at Beccles Lido a fantastic success — keeping costs low for our club families and fueling a day full of fun, laughter, and sunshine. ☀️💦

Our swimmers train hard all year, and it was amazing to see them simply enjoying the water and each other’s company. Your support made a real difference — we’re so grateful! 🙌💙

A big shout out to everyone that came and made this an enjoyable event of 2025 at Beccles Lido.

From Tuesday, 6th May 2025, we’re launching our new club timetable — and bringing even more of our training back to our fantastic home pool at Marina Centre! 🌟

Better facilities, stronger community, and a fresh new chapter for all our swimmers. Plus, we’re refreshing our squad names to reflect the amazing journeys our swimmers are on!

Great Yarmouth Swimming Club – City of Norwich Level 1 Long Course Easter Meet @ UEA Olympic Pool

Over the Easter weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), 12 swimmers from Great Yarmouth SC represented the club at the City of Norwich Level 1 Long Course Easter Meet, held at the Olympic Pool in the UEA Sports Park. Across three days and nine intense sessions, our athletes squared off against clubs from across the UK—and even a visiting team from Dubai—delivering some outstanding performances.

Competition Highlights
• 42 events entered across freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and individual medley
• 20 personal bests, a testament to focused preparation and determination
• Club swimmers reached 2 finals, demonstrating their competitiveness at this Level 1 gala
• A bronze medal secured in a “heat-declared winner” event

Every competitor gave 100% in each race, from explosive starts to powerful finishes. The spirit, sportsmanship and teamwork on display made this one of our strongest Easter outings yet.

The Club would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Garry Jarvis, our Head Coach, for his exceptional leadership, expert guidance and unwavering support in the lead-up to—and throughout—the Easter Meet. We’d also like to thank all parents, volunteers and meet officials for making this trip possible.

What’s next?
Training resumes this week with fresh summer-season goals. Keep an eye on our website and social channels for upcoming gala entries, training sessions and more chances to cheer on our swimmers!

New Opportunities at Gt Yarmouth Swimming Club

We’re excited to share that two important roles will be opening up soon at Gt Yarmouth Swimming Club. Both offer a chance to make a real impact and support the smooth running of the club:

Learn 2 Swim Coordinator
--> Oversee the Learn 2 Swim programme
--> Liaise with teachers, parents, and the committee
--> Manage enrolments and respond to lesson enquiries

Events Administrator
--> Support the organisation of club galas and events
--> Coordinate swimmer entries and event communications
--> Assist with event logistics and liaising with officials

These roles are ideal for individuals who are organised, approachable, and keen to support a thriving swimming community.

Local Swimmer: Olivia Greenall Qualifies for Olympic Trials!

We are beyond proud to share that Olivia Greenall has officially qualified for the British Olympic Trials 2025 in the 100m Butterfly! She will compete at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships this April at the London Aquatics Centre, aiming to take her swimming to the next level.

Olivia has been with Great Yarmouth Swimming Club since she was 9, developing her skills from junior performance squad to working with Garry Jarvis, GYSC Coach, over the past year. She first made county times at age 10, regionals at 13, and her first nationals at 14 in freestyle and butterfly. Since then, she has qualified for nationals in every event she competes in and has been a link swimmer with CONSC since she was 12.

Through hard work, dedication, and a humble attitude, Olivia has become an inspiration to all our younger swimmers. Training 6–7 times a week between UEA Sports Park, Phoenix Swimming Pool, and the New Marina Centre, she has always dreamed of becoming an Olympic swimmer – and now she is one step closer!

Her official qualifying time of 1:04.03 (just inside the 1:04.10 Olympic Trials standard) is a testament to her incredible determination. We can’t wait to see her take on the Olympic trials in London!

Join us in wishing Olivia the best of luck as she represents Great Yarmouth Swimming Club on the national stage!
