This footage may be nearly 80 years old, and the world has certainly moved on, but it’s striking how familiar so much of it still feels. The rhythms, the characters, the quiet determination — you can almost imagine half the people in the film fitting right in at a modern Camphill Vintage Rally.
It does make you wonder, though: how many of us would secretly enjoy stepping back into that simpler era and flying the way they once did — just you, a glider, and the hillside, with nothing fancy to get in the way.
