Important Update:
As a society, we have emerged from lockdown with a greater acknowledgement and focus on the importance of being physically active to protect our health and wellbeing.
Over the past three months we have welcomed hundreds of people back to Hyndburn Leisure Centre. We introduced a wide range of procedures to ensure that the facility is COVID secure, including increased cleaning regimes, one-way systems, safe distancing measures and reduced occupancy levels in spaces and activity sessions.
We have received excellent feedback from customers. Here are just a few quotes from members about their experience of exercising at Hyndburn Leisure Centre:
🏊♀ "I loved my weekly swim and decided to try out the lane swim sessions at Hyndburn. Very impressed, and more than happy with the different lanes!"🏊♀
👍 "The Feelgood Suite feels safe, secure and I'm so happy to be back on the toning beds!" 👍
🏋️"It has been great to be back. Gym 2 is easy to socially distance in, hand sanitiser everywhere, antibacterial spray so we can all wipe down the machines and weights after use.” 🏋️
We look forward to reopening more facilities and reintroducing activities to support more people across Hyndburn to live active, healthy lifestyles.
Unfortunately, local infection rates have led to further restrictions being introduced which affect our ability to deliver our initial phased reopening plan. The recent announcement to move Lancashire to Tier 3 has specifically impacted on the reintroduction of Soft Play, Racket and team sports.
As a result, the planned reopening of Mercer Hall Leisure Centre will be delayed until further notice. We had initially planned to open from late October, but this is no longer feasible. It is our intention to reopen each facility at the earliest opportunity and the health and safety of our members and employees must take priority above all else.
Ahead of reopening, all Mercer Hall memberships will remain frozen. During this period, we also encourage and welcome Mercer Hall members to visit Hyndburn Leisure Centre for a show round at the facility.
