𝗨𝟭𝟮 𝗬𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝘄 💛
Gonerby Yellow U12s put in a spirited performance in a 2–2 draw against Mid Lincs B League side Hykeham Tigers Bees, despite being without their captain, who suffered an injury the day before the match, and with several players carrying tired legs.

The team produced some excellent one-touch football throughout and took the lead thanks to a moment of quality from Roman. Receiving the ball on the edge of the area, he struck a superb half-volley that flew into the right-hand corner at mid-height, giving the goalkeeper no chance.

Roman was involved again in Gonerby’s second goal with an outstanding effort from around 25 yards. His powerful strike crashed against the top right of the crossbar before dropping kindly to Harley, who showed great composure to control the ball and volley it into the top corner.

Despite scoring two excellent goals, Hykeham Tigers Bees battled throughout with the friendly finishing 2–2.

A special mention goes to our new goalkeeper, who produced an excellent display and made several important contributions throughout the match. Credit must also go to a former Gonerby player who returned to help us out due to our injury-hit squad. Having previously left the club, he stepped in at right-back and worked tirelessly for the team.

The standout performer on the day was Roman, whose all-round display was exceptional. Along with scoring a fantastic goal and creating another, he was outstanding throughout the match and was deservedly named Player of the Match. 💙💛

𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘂𝟭𝟮 𝗚𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘆 𝗬𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 – 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 🤝
The U12 Yellows delivered an impressive performance at Hough Fest 2026, securing a 3–0 victory over Newark Brazil Corinthians in an exhibition friendly played in excellent spirit by both teams with the sun shining and a hot one!🌞

From the outset, the Yellows showed composure and control, moving the ball fluently and demonstrating some outstanding passing and crossing throughout the game. Their teamwork and communication were clear to see, creating several chances and keeping their opponents under consistent pressure.

The breakthrough came thanks to a well-taken goal from Elliot, who finished confidently to give the Yellows the lead. The team continued to build momentum, and their attacking play paid off again when Rico added a second, capitalising on the Yellows’ sharp build-up play.

The third goal came from Mason , putting the result firmly capping off an excellent all-round display from the team. Defensively, the Yellows also held strong, ensuring a clean sheet and completing a thoroughly professional performance.

Beyond the match itself, the day was made even more special by the wider Hough Fest atmosphere. The club was actively involved in the festival, with chairman James organising a fun and engaging football stall. Activities including “Beat the Goalkeeper” and the “Get it Through the Hoop" adding to the vibrant and family-friendly atmosphere of the event. Thank you for Having us 🙏

Overall, it was a fantastic day of football both on and off the pitch, with great sportsmanship, brilliant effort from the players, and a memorable experience for everyone involved.

𝗨𝟳 𝗬𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀: 𝗔 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 💛
The U7 Yellows put in a really positive and friendly performance away at Newark Brazils this morning, showing many of the qualities that have been developing throughout the season.

What stood out most was the teamwork and willingness to look for passes. The players worked hard to involve each other in the game, moving the ball well and creating some excellent team passages of play. One particularly impressive move started from the back and progressed through several players before being finished off, reflecting exactly the style of football the team has been working towards all season.

Defensively, there was plenty to admire too. The team showed determination and concentration when out of possession, with strong defending across the pitch and some assured goalkeeping when called upon. Players were quick to support one another, worked hard to win the ball back, and never stopped encouraging their teammates.

The energy, effort and confidence on display were fantastic from start to finish. Every player contributed, showing a great attitude and a real desire to play for each other.

A brilliant way to round off the season and another reminder of just how much this group has developed over the course of the year. The progress in both their football and teamwork has been excellent to see, and they should all be very proud of themselves. 👏⚽💛💙

𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘆 (𝘂𝟳'𝘀) 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 💛
Gonerby U6s put in an excellent performance with an early 9am Kick Off away at Caythorpe in a friendly fixture today as they continued their preparations for the upcoming U7 season in September. Having now experienced the 3v3 format for the second time this year, the young players showed fantastic development, confidence, and enthusiasm throughout the morning.

The boys played some brilliant football, moving the ball well, linking up with great passing, and scoring some excellent goals. Most importantly, they enjoyed every minute of their time on the pitch, with plenty of smiles, celebrations, and encouragement from teammates.

The match was played in a wonderful atmosphere, with parents from both sides providing enthusiastic support from the touchline. The cheering and positivity created a fantastic environment for the players to showcase their skills and continue their development.

A big thank you goes to Caythorpe for hosting and providing such a welcoming setting for the fixture. Everyone at Gonerby is already looking forward to the return match later in the season.

After the game, U7's Coach; Tom said:
"I couldn't be prouder of the boys today. Every time they pull on the Gonerby shirt, they show fantastic resilience, effort, and determination. Their talent is amazing to see, but it's their attitude and teamwork that really shine. They should all be proud to wear the Gonerby strip, just as we're proud to have them representing the club."

A fantastic morning of football and another positive step forward as the team continues its journey towards the U7 season. Well done, boys! 💙⚽
