👋Hey! I’m Vicki, and I thought it was about time I re-introduced myself.

Instagram may have changed A LOT since my last intro post 2 years ago but my passion for Pilates definitely hasn’t!

Becoming a 1:1 Mat, Reformer and Stability Chair instructor wasn't "fuelled" by a love for fitness in the traditional sense. It came from a personal need to learn how to move in a way that listened to my body so I could feel strong, confident and connected whilst navigating the unpredictability of Coeliac Disease, Endometriosis , Adenomyosis and Motherhood.

I know first-hand that trying to "push through" leaves you feeling frustrated, like you’re failing or worse - so fatigued or ill that you are forced to stop entirely.

So now I help others move safely and consistently so that they can understand and trust their body again - leaving them strong, confident and connected again!

In this space, we don’t "push through" or beat ourselves up.

We learn to listen. We build trust. We move in a way that makes you feel like you again.

As a Pilates teacher there can be so much pressure to post perfectly performed Pilates.

And if we feel that pressure, I often wonder how intimidating it must feel for someone trying Pilates for the first time.

But I’m human and perfect Pilates is not what I stand for.

Pilates for me isn’t about performance.
It’s about creating a safe space to grow, explore and truly connect with yourself.

Taking the time to move, feel and genuinely listen to your body.

I really enjoy teaching this exercise on the Stability Chair in 1:1 sessions.

It’s a powerful way to explore the abdominal connection between the ribs and pelvis.

This is the kind of work that only happens when the session is built entirely around you.

We slow it right down and explore the movement inwardly:

Are you controlling the movement of the pedal from your abdominals
or are you hinging and moving the pedal with your shoulders?

When you take the time to connect and understand how you move then you begin to appreciate your body rather than judge it. That’s where confidence, compassion, strength and mobility are built - so you can move with greater ease in everyday life.

So this is your reminder:

We are all here (including me as a Pilates teacher) to connect, grow and explore - not to perform. And yes, to have fun along the way.

That’s when Pilates truly starts to change how your body feels -
and how you feel about your body.
