⚽❤️ A Match for Tony ❤️⚽
Behind every successful football club are people who rarely seek the spotlight, but without them none of it would be possible.
For our club, that person is Tony Nash.
Many know Tony as a lifelong West Ham fan, but to us he is so much more. He started out simply wanting to help his son's team, volunteering as a coach. Over the years, that commitment grew into countless hours of selfless work as Club Secretary, making sure registrations were completed, fees collected, scores submitted and every single child was affiliated with the FA and able to play the game they love every Sunday.
While the children were making memories on the pitch, Tony was quietly working behind the scenes to make it all happen. Week after week. Year after year. Never for recognition. Simply because he cared.
Sadly, Tony recently suffered a stroke.
Now it's our turn to give something back.
We are holding a Charity Football Match and Family Fun Day in honour of Tony, raising money for the Stroke Association and celebrating a man whose dedication, love and support have helped shape our club into the amazing family it is today.
There are hundreds of children who have pulled on our club shirt over the years, and every one of them has benefited from Tony's hard work, whether they realise it or not.
If you've ever played for the club, if your child has played for the club, or if you've simply seen the difference grassroots football makes to young people, we ask you to join us in saying thank you to a truly special man.
Because some heroes don't score the goals.
They make sure the game can be played.
💙⚽ Thank you, Tony.
