☀️ The sun is more powerful than we often realise!

This week we are exploring its amazing energy by using a magnifying glass to focus the sun’s rays onto a piece of wood. Watching the wood begin to smoke was a magical way for our little explorers to discover how powerful sunlight can be. 🔍🔥

We have a couple of vacancies now open to join our fantastic team:

- Nursery Manager (maternity cover, with view to full time for right candidate)

- Nursery Practitioner

Full-time or part-time availability | Highly competitive salary

Join us at our fully outdoor nursery set in 30 acres of beautiful private woodland. Children spend every day outdoors, in all weathers, learning through nature and child-led play in an idyllic setting.

You’ll need:
✔ Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (level 3 for manager), but open to unqualified candidates too
✔ Experience working in an early years setting
✔ A genuine love of the outdoors, happy working outside year-round
✔ A calm, warm, nurturing approach with 2–5s
✔ A positive, collaborative attitude and strong team player
✔ Forest School / Outdoor Nursery experience desirable, not essential

We have a couple of vacancies now open to join our fantastic team:

- Nursery Manager (maternity cover, with view to full time for right candidate)
- Nursery Practitioner

Hidden Valley is a fully outdoor nursery set in 30 acres of beautiful private woodland. Children spend every day outdoors, in all weathers, learning through nature and child-led play in an idyllic setting. We opened in January 2026 and are already at capacity with a growing waiting list.

You'll need:

✔ Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (level 3 for manager), but open to unqualified candidates too
✔ Experience working in an early years setting
✔ A genuine love of the outdoors, happy working outside year-round
✔ A calm, warm, nurturing approach with 2–5s

Some World Book Day inspired creativity in the woods… 📚🌿

This week we’ve been celebrating our favourite stories beneath the trees.

Forest School isn’t just about tools, fire lighting and risky play. We follow the EYFS too, weaving stories, phonics, letter recognition and early literacy into our days in the woods.

Because learning can happen anywhere… especially under the trees.

We used bunting to explore colours and shapes as we decorated our den for our favourite storybook characters ahead of BookWeek!

Spotting triangles, naming colours and choosing where to put them…it’s learning and decision making woven through play 🍃
