🔥 MURPH 2026 🔥

What a day!

Last Bank Holiday Monday saw the CrossFit Thurrock crew take on the legendary Murph WOD in some of the hottest weather the UK has seen all year! ☀️💪

And my word; we felt it 🥵 🥵

From seasoned athletes to first-timers, members of ALL levels stepped up to the challenge, showing incredible determination, grit, and community spirit throughout the workout. Whether it was scaled, partitioned, weighted, or RX, everyone earned their Murph.

The atmosphere was unreal, with members cheering each other on through every run, pull-up, press-up, and squat. That’s what CrossFit Thurrock is all about. 👏

And once the hard work was done? We fired up the BBQ, cracked open a few well-earned beers, and spent the afternoon celebrating together as a community. 🍔🌭🍻

A huge well done to everyone who took part. Murph is never easy, but tackling it in that heat made it even more memorable.

We’re proud of every single one of you.

🤕 “Coach, I’m feeling sore - should I be training today?” 🤕

This simple questions has layers to it, if you want an answer that is credible and benefits you in the long run…

Soreness, fatigue etc are part of training. They are neither good, nor bad. They just “are.”

The answer, isn’t as simple as “have a day off.”

Adequate Hydration is often MORE than just water 💦

Especially for the kind of WOD’s we’ve been taking on lately at CrossFit Thurrock.

You know that salty taste of your sweat; as it hits your lips mid burpee on round 5.

Yea?

Well, That’s sodium and other minerals leaving your body.

To rehydrate correctly; consider replacing them as WELL AS drinking enough fluids.

What an incredible day at the gym for Open 26.2! 🔥

The energy in the room was unreal and the support from everyone made it something special. We saw so many huge moments — members hitting their first ever pull-ups, others smashing their first chest-to-bar pull-ups, and loads of people pushing further than they thought possible. 💪

That’s what this community is all about: cheering each other on, celebrating every rep, and proving that hard work pays off. The atmosphere was electric from start to finish!

Massive well done to everyone who took on the challenge. Whether you got your first rep, your best score, or just showed up and gave it everything — we’re proud of you.

Bring on the next one on Friday! 🙌🔥

Countless number of “firsts” were achieved by members.

First pull up, first chest to bar, first RX WOD.

We’re looking forward to so much more to come too!

You guys were epic 🔥😍

Now, we recover.
Set our focus to next Friday and plan for more of the unknown.
