Canning Academy of Performing Arts A school of excellence - classes in ISTD Tap, ISTD Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre. Classes he Our school caters for boys and girls from age 2.5 upwards.

The school was first started over 35 years ago and has continued to go from strength to strength ever since. Pupils can take part in classes just for fun and fitness levels, or if more serious about their training can be entered for the ISTD examinations and even go on to further training. The school offers many performance opportunities with children taking part in shows and productions, includin

g West End shows: Billy Elliot, Shrek, The Sound of Music and Joseph. More recently, we took some of the students to DisneyLand Paris to perform on stage in the Magic Kingdom. A truly magical experience. All of our staff teach with love, dedication and consistency. They help the children not only to dance, but to reach their full potential. All of our teachers are fully qualified and DBS checked. All children are special to us and our aim is to encourage the children to believe in their aspirations and dreams, to share the enjoyment of dance.

We’re in the midst of show term so I haven’t posted in ages 😬

I HAD to post this morning though just to say how proud I am of these kids! They absolutely smashed it last night in their performance with TYP raising money for charity at the Thameside Theatre
A dance we did at our show 2 years ago!

‘Do your costumes still fit and do you remember the dance?’
‘Not really miss and sort of’
‘Never mind - let’s make it work!’

And they did! 🙌
