A few memories from the IYCE workshop with Uday Bhosale at the beginning of summer. ☀️

A wonderful day immersed in Iyengar Yoga with Uday sharing his knowledge, experience and insight through practice.

IYCE regularly hosts workshops with experienced Iyengar Yoga teachers, offering opportunities to deepen our practice, learn from senior teachers and practise alongside others in the Iyengar community.

Special thanks to Uday and to everyone who joined us for such a special day. 🙏

Tomorrow we’re back on the mat with Jayne Orton for another IYCE workshop — and I’m looking forward to another day of practice, learning and exploration.

A couple of weeks ago I stepped into the beautiful gardens at Barnards Farm to teach a yoga session for for their wellbeing day. 🌿🧘‍♀️

There’s something magical about showing up for your own wellbeing and being part of a bigger cause. There is also something powerful about coming together to share a yoga .

Mental health matters. Moments like this remind us we’re never alone.

I’m pleased to be taking part in Thurrock and Brentwood Mind’s Wellbeing Day on Saturday 4 July, where I’ll be teaching a short Iyengar Yoga session.

Yoga has so much to offer in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing, I’m looking forward to sharing the benefits of the practice. ✨🙏🏻✨

We are delighted to welcome Uday Bhosale for a special Iyengar Yoga workshop.

Uday began his Iyengar Yoga journey in the late 1990s and has trained extensively in Pune, India with B.K.S. Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar. With over 30 years of teaching experience, including 15 years at RIMYI, he brings depth, clarity and warmth to his teaching.

His classes are:

🌷🌷A visit to see the last of this year’s tulips in Amsterdam - the late bloomers. There is always so much to enjoy in nature. 🌷🌷

Classes starting back again on Wednesday after the bank holiday break.

The journey up and down Mount Snowden. We followed the Miners track on the way up, a very scenic route past old copper mines and lakes before a steep rocky scramble to the top. After reaching the summit a sudden blizzard meant it was the Llanberis route on the way back. A bit slower but definitely less treacherous! 🥶⛰️🙏🏻

What a privilege it is to be part of the UK group for this years Yoganusasanam. 🙏🏻

Iyengar Yoga has a truly global community, and this becomes especially clear when we travel to Pune to study at the source. Every year, students and teachers from all over the world gather, practise together, and deepen their understanding of the method. A tradition that is unique to Iyengar yoga.

Our Chair, , and her sister, , are currently in Pune taking part in Yoganushasanam 2025, alongside a wonderful UK cohort in this photo. It’s inspiring to see so many dedicated practitioners representing our community and learning together under one roof.

Join us for the final 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Iyengar Yoga Centre for Essex (IYCE) — a free event open to all practitioners!

🧘‍♂️ Yoga Workshop with Paul Brown – 9:45–11:45
🪷 Talk by Susan Long – 11:45–12:45
💬 Q&A with a panel of Level 3 Teachers
☕ Refreshments – 12:45–14:00

In February 1995, a small group of Iyengar Yoga practitioners met at Susan Long’s home to discuss how to develop Iyengar Yoga in Essex. From that gathering, the Iyengar Yoga Centre for Essex (IYCE) was born — and 30 years later, we’re celebrating how far it’s come!

About Paul Brown:
Paul is a much-loved Level 3 Iyengar Yoga teacher — one of the first to be trained in Essex. Over the years, he’s refined his practice and teaching and now leads several popular classes across the county.
