Your all broken!

A common thing i find working with clients (especially new ones) is they all suffer with some sort of pain or little niggles as a result of their daily lifestyle, poor posture and a lack of commitment to improving their general mobility and flexibility.

Everyone wants to train but i hardly see anyone focusing time and attention to the way the body has to move effectively to be able to perform efficiently.

Becoming a Supple Leopard by Dr. Kelly Starrett is a book well worth the investment.

This isn’t a book you are going to read cover to cover, think of it more as a go to aid as and when needed. I have referred to what i have learnt from this book for many years in my own training and as a PT, the direct result being i am very rarely injured/out of the gym and i have been able to pass on valuable advice to my clients who where in pain or have needed to improve the way their body moves for the better.

Everything in the book has detailed pictures and descriptions so you know exactly how to perform the stretches/exercises demonstrated.

I got my copy years ago on Ebay, have a look around online now and see if you can grab yourself one, like i say, it is a book anyone who trains should have on their shelf.

I have seen the confidence of my client grow & grow since working with him. From an initial consultation where he prioritised a heavy work schedule over his health and fitness to now having a much better, balanced relationship between work and looking after himself as well as in his own words being in the best shape his been in since he was 18 👏🏻💪🏻

Exercise doesn’t just keep you fit physically, it also builds mental resilience.

I completed my first half marathon Sunday just gone. Those last 5km where the hardest i have ever had to grind through to date, but, i did it! Which came from the sheer determination to not give up.

What are you not going to give up on this week??
