Barclays Free Park Tennis - Windmill Gardens, Gravesend

Barclays Free Park Tennis - Windmill Gardens, Gravesend Free Park Tennis is a new programme that gives more people the chance to park tennis, offering fun, social tennis sessions at a local park court near you.

Sessions are free for all ages and abilities, running from 10-11am every Saturday.

A lovely day at Windmill Gardens this morning. We were blessed with some new to tennis and some returning.
Worked on some positional play on receiving the ball, filled by sone volley drills and point play.
To finish it off, the vote was to play Round the World - some additional cardio just in case you had any energy left.

No pictures today but a great turn out. We spread over 3 courts.

With some music playing, we did some consistency play followed by points.

Lots of people enjoying the park with a few picnics going on.

Rain, what rain ?

It rained all night, but let up enough for the session to go ahead and then eventually stopped.

We used all 3 courts playing Dingles and best of 3 games(or 10 mins). Lots of ball hitting !

All turned up, some wearing rain macs and had plenty of fun!

Picnic in the park today!

Some great point play by all with all working hard. We separated everyone into teams of 3 and pitted teams against each other. This was a consistency based game, so more consistent, quicker scoring.

Finished off with a friendly game of catch your way in.

Drinks deserved all round.

What a lovely day to start the Bank holiday in the Park. The Sun was out, a constant flow of people, families picnicing and dogs playing.

We had a full session today with plenty of point practice, games, music and fun.

What a lovely day in th park. The sun was out and families were having picnics on the green adjacent to the court.

Lots of point practice with Dingles, Champs and Challengers finished off with a new but old game Round the Clock.

Thanks to Aimee for taking a montage of photos and wishing you a speedy recovery (hopefully back on court next week)

A lovely morning for tennis - some extra cardio following Easter was on the menu.

With music pumping, all were challenged keeping depth and consistency. We then swiftly moved on to points and played over 3 courts.

2 of our regular helpers were then paired in their first mixed match together later that day - they were on fire and played really nicely together (yes they won !)
