Grassington suffered their second loss of the season against a good Great Harwood side who showed Grassington exactly what they need to improve upon if they are to have an impact in this new league.

After last week’s heart-breaking 1-0 loss, this loss felt much more of a wake up call. However, Grassington will feel that they should have capitalised on their early domination. They were the best side for the first twenty-five minutes and had opportunities to open the scoring but they just couldn’t get the ball over the line.

Great Harwood grew into the game and went ahead on the half hour mark and this seemed to knock the wind out of Grassington’s sails.

Half-time 0-1

Grassington again came out to play but Great Harwood were now more than a match for them in every area.

10 minutes into the second half they made a 2-0 through a thunderous strike from distance and the same player made it 3-0 with twenty minutes to go with another left foot rocket.

Grassington to their credit continued to battle and never gave up the fight.

Full-time 0-3

Huge credit goes to Great Harwood who were worthy winners and were top lads both on and off the pitch.

For Grassington, it’s a time to reflect with some clear points to work on. This league was always going to be a big step up but Grassington know what they need to do to improve and as the last two seasons have shown, this is a group full of winners and the winning ways will return.

Grassington suffered their second loss of the season against a good Great Harwood side who showed Grassington exactly what they need to improve upon if they are to have an impact in this new league.

Reserves first game.

In a tight and scrappy contest, with 7 goals and 5+ yellow cards, the reserves came out on the wrong end of the result.

Positives to take are young lads making their senior debuts and getting good match experience whilst Bradley Gardner bagged a hat trick. 🦡

We move into the weekend, with both the Firsts and Reserves looking for their first points of the new campaign.

The Gtown start the season with an unlucky defeat.

In a game that could’ve gone either way, a draw looked the most likely and fair of results. Unfortunately a scrappy and controversial set piece goal saw Feniscowles take the lead with only 15 or so to play.

Some real positives to take into next week, the lads should be proud of the shift they put in.
