Ecosse Mountains Professional mountain guiding & instruction in the Scottish Highlands. The company was set up in 2003 by Kevin Rutherford.

Ecosse Mountains is based in the Scottish Highland village of Grantown on Spey, within the Cairngorm National Park. Kevin holds the highest level of mountaineering qualification recognised in the UK, Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor and is a full member of AMI, The Association of Mountaineering Instructors. Since 2003, Kevin has been providing professional friendly courses and instruction in the Cairngorms, Ben Nevis, Glencoe, the Isle of Skye, the Orkney Islands and in Norway, where he runs the Norway Ice course based in Rjukan. Kevin has been climbing in the Scottish Mountains for nearly 30yrs and is keen and passionate about inspiring new and memorable experiences, introducing and improving skills, knowledge, decision making and will hopefully help fulfil your mountain ambitions.

Nice morning to finish the holiday, multi pitch leads Eilidh Neillie-Rutherford at Placche dei Baone in Arco. Weather settled back to September norms, as we were climbing every now and then a cactus pear fruit would come hurtling down leaving long blood like lines 🩸🌵 crag reminded me of Etive slabs but with less friction. 😄

Followed our noses this morning(and red dots😂)up Cima Del Groste after finding out on route our via ferrata was closed due to rock fall. Nice little mountaineering route through steep layers, timed it nicely with afternoon ⛈️
