Congratulations to Elijah Versteeg, the first winner of this year’s Mitchell Claret Jug league trophy.

Elijah was presented with the Jug by Bill’s widow’s Morven at a ceremony in the Nethy Bridge Hotel earlier this week.

Bill Mitchell sadly passed away on the 27th of January 2026 aged 91, Bill was an active member of the club for many decades.
His name is on trophy’s dating back to the 1950’s!!

Bill was well respected member of the club, who loved to pass on his knowledge, always willing to teach other members.
He will be sorely missed by all at the Club.

Last night saw our final match played of the season, The Leddingham Cup.
John Lilley defeated Brian Stewart 2-1 in the final.

The other results are as follows:

Campbell Cup Billiards singles: Colin Lawson.

Leddingham Cup Snooker singles: John Lilley.

Jim Redden Quaich Snooker singles: James Simpson. (Not present at prize giving.)

Peter Moir Trophy Billiards doubles: Gordon Garrow & John Lilley.

Templeton Cup: Snooker doubles: Ronald MacPherson & James Simpson.

Mitchell Claret Jug, league champion: Elijah Versteeg. (Not present, Prize giving at later date.)

Thank you to Kelly-Marie Willox for presenting the prizes.

Also thank you to the Nethy Bridge hotel and staff for the excellent buffet and for their support throughout the season.
