Just found out from Vladislav Tuláček, World Caber Champion 2022, what the stats were on the caber that gave him the title. 23 feet and 65 to 70 Kilos. Andrew just turned a 23 foot 55 pound or 24 kilos caber for 12:30. Would not have believed it if I didn't witness it myself. This caber was weighed and measured and witnessed by several onlookers. 😍

On Monday Highland Games training went extremely well in the shot putt, photo on the left. Andrew pulls this beauty out on the final throw of the day. Tuesday he has a sports day at school. He wins the shot putt 10m 91cm to qualify for Thursday's big show down, now he is going for the school records. The photo on the right is Highland Games training today (Wednesday). I my money is on Andrew for the W on Thursday. Onward and upward Andrew!!!! 🤩

Found this photo and it really tells the story of throwers who refuse to quit and an eccentric, slightly mad coach who should be taking it easy after spinal surgery, however isn't. Champions don't make excuses and coaches, who are worth their salt, will be there for the next generation to make sure they have the best possible chance of standing on top of the podium. 😎

Andrew is back at it. Impressing not only himself, but anyone who sees him training at Grantown East. When highland games events are done properly, it is an artform. To see a young person taking up our beloved sport, inspiring. 👍👏👏👏 Well done Andrew!!!

There are times when I have captured cabertossing as an artform. This just happens to be one of them. Andrew is showing real time improvements. He is now pushing himself even harder to master this caber known as "fickle beast". 😎

Andrew never ceases to amaze me with his real time gains in caber tossing. This 15' 1" beast was his nemisis. This was his 12:00 throw to beat the beast. Time for me to get back to the caber factory and make a 15' 6" caber around the same weight.

Back at it again. Andrew is showing off some amazing cabertossing skills with this deceiving caber. It was his nemesis for as long as he has been tossing a caber. He now beat this caber by getting a 10:30. Onward and upward for this young heavy. 😎
