Mick Somerville.
Mick’s son, Simon has kindly written us a few words.
“It is with a heavy heart, I announce the passing of my father Mick Somerville.
It’s 75 years ago as a 16 year old, he first pulled on the Kesteven jersey. This started a long playing career with K’s and Lincolnshire. Also a lifelong support of this wonderful club. He was one of many, who helped to build the clubhouse in its current position.
Throughout my playing career. He was a presence spectating with the likes of Derrick Smith, Warwick Purchase, Tony Snarey to name a few. Always quick to criticise when needed and sometimes when not.
In his twilight he wasn’t able to attend Woodnook, but read the match reports in the Journal and asked for updates from the web.
RIP Dad”
