Our super star Dressage Diva and Dude went to the South West Inter County Championships at Bicton Arena last weekend to compete in their first ever FEI I Inter at a competitive level 🤩 FYI - this is the highest level a RN rider has competed at!

We are so proud to say that they came 🥇1st place in the Inter I, as part of the Devon Team!

Congratulations guys! Swipe to the end to see a beautiful pirouette 🧑🏻‍🩰

Lt Cdr Hannah Lee and horse Cairnview Limelight (Hades) age 5 had a go at showing for the first time at Crofton Equestrian for the Tricklebank Stud Spring Show.

They participated in the Novice Class Ridden with 11 entries. I think it’s safe to say that they (Hannah 😂), were absolutely shocked to have placed and won 🥇- a massive congratulations to you both! 🍾🎉

They didn’t stay for the championships due to travelling a long way and with Hades being just a baby, the main focus of the day was to expose him to different things, to have fun with no expectations.

“He was mega chilled all day which is what the judge liked considering how busy it was and his age. Funny - as we were pulled out on the walk round, I didnt know we had won, the photographer came over to tell me! I thought we were leaving the arena so that those who placed could do a lap of honour.” - Lt Cdr Hannah Lee

From the saddle to the spotlight 🏆✨

Last night, accompanied by the RNEA Chair Captain Mark Alder and Development rider PO Amber Donaldson, CPO Amy Taylor attended the UKAF Sports Awards Dinner in London, following her fantastic achievement of being named Navy Sportswoman of the Year in November 2025.

In incredible company alongside RAF’s Sarah Toms (cycling) and the evening’s overall winner, the British Army’s Gdsn Manuqalo Komaitai (Rugby Union), Amy represented both her sport and service with pride.

Taking home a runner-up shield and a host of unforgettable memories, Amy’s dedication to equestrianism has truly taken her to remarkable heights at such a prestigious event.

While it wasn’t the top spot this time, her achievements speak volumes — and the entire team couldn’t be prouder.
Well done, Amy — you’re an absolute star ⭐

Congratulations and the very best of luck to Senior Rider CPO Amy Taylor, who is travelling to London today after being shortlisted for UK Armed Forces Sportswoman of the Year! 🐎

Following a breakthrough 2025 season with her horse Clara, Amy made history as the first Royal Navy rider to compete internationally for the Service.

Her commitment to the Association extends far beyond the saddle. As Treasurer and Training Officer, Amy has played a key role in the recent growth and success of the Association.

After being named Royal Navy Sportswoman of the Year 2025, Amy now goes head-to-head for the UK Armed Forces title against the British Army’s Gdsn Manuqalo Komaitai (Rugby Union) and the RAF’s Cpl Sarah Toms (Cycling).

Good luck, Amy! 🍀 ⚓️
