GTC Coaches Awards Ceremony 2026

You are invited - We are delighted to announce our annual GTC Coaches Awards Ceremony is taking place on the 1st November.

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s event, we are splitting the celebrations into two special events.

🏆 12:30pm – 2:30pm
Tots, Red, Orange & Green Ball Awards

🏆 3:00pm – 5:00pm
Junior & Adult Awards

And now for the exciting part… 👀 Your GTC coach will be in touch over the next couple of weeks to let you know if you’ve been selected to receive an award. Whether you're a member, player, supporter, or just love being part of the club, this is a great chance to come along and cheer on our award winners! Let’s celebrate what makes GTC so special — YOU!

There's still time to enter GTC's Sunday Night Social League!

Enter as a team and be captain of your friends or enter as an individual and we can try put you in a team 😀

The league is open to non-members so neighbouring clubs can enter a team.

Matches will predominantly be indoors but may move outdoors in April depending on the number of entries.

🎾 Tom’s Summer Tennis Success

It’s been a really positive period for Tom, with a series of strong and steadily improving performances across a number of tournaments.

🏆 Runner-up at Anstey Gynsill 18U
🥈 Runner-up at Carisbrooke 16U
🎾 Match win at the Derbyshire Open
🥉 3rd place at Nottingham Tennis Centre 16U

Tom also put in solid performances at Dallington 18U and John Charles Leeds 18U, while gaining some fantastic experience spending nine days as part of the ball crew at the Nottingham Open.

The progression continued, with encouraging results at Sandal 16U and Huntingdon 18U, culminating in an excellent victory at Bedfordshire 16U! 🏆

A really encouraging run of performances, showing Tom’s continued development, growing confidence and commitment to competing at his best.

Well done, Tom — keep pushing! 💪🎾

Last week, we said goodbye to Ben in the bar as he heads off for the next chapter of his academic journey.

Ben is now entering his final year at university and has decided to move a little closer to help give himself more time to focus on his studies.

Thank you for all your hard work, Ben. You’ll definitely be missed by everyone at GTC! We wish you the very best of luck for your final year — go smash it 🎓 and don’t be a stranger! 👋

🎾 Well done Louis
Louis was recently selected as one of the top eight LD players in the country (currently ranked No. 5 in the UK) to qualify to play at Wimbledon! 🏆

Louis qualified through “Play Your Way to Wimbledon” and went on to finish a very respectable 4th place — improving on last year’s result by one place. What an achievement! 👏

It’s been an incredibly busy summer for Louis, with this being his third tournament in just eight days. He has also competed in the Special Olympics in Wrexham, where he won a silver and bronze medal. He then travelled to The Wirral to compete in the Equestrian National Games, coming away with an amazing two gold medals and a silver! 🥇🥇🥈

What a summer of incredible achievements! 🌟

Well done, Louis — keep up the amazing work, both on and off the court.

Drop In sessions have been ongoing throughout the summer but the termly group lessons start back Tuesday 1st September and the drop in's still continue.
