Barrowby CC travelled to Boston for today’s Division 3 league fixture.

After losing the toss, Barrowby were asked to field first. The visitors made an excellent start, with Sammy Hardy striking twice early on to leave Boston under pressure. However, Ben Troops (115*) and Peter Moore (112*) produced an outstanding partnership, both reaching unbeaten centuries to guide Boston to a formidable total of 236 after their 40 overs.

In reply, Barrowby began steadily with Sadiq Basha and Jebas A at the crease. Sadiq was first to depart for 13, falling to Finley Barnes. John Jones then joined Jebas and played an important innings, scoring a well-made 53 before being unfortunately run out.

Jebas A continued to anchor the innings with a calm and composed knock before falling shortly before the drinks break. Sammy Hardy then injected momentum into the chase with an energetic 36.

The game turned dramatically thanks to a blistering innings from Darren Lewis, who smashed 66 runs from just 25 balls, including six huge sixes, bringing Barrowby right back into contention. Darren was dismissed just before the winning runs were scored, but his innings proved decisive.

James Handley provided excellent support throughout the closing stages, helping Barrowby reach the target with three overs to spare and secure a fantastic victory.
