We have been playing our Club Mixed Triples League over the summer and we are entering the last week with 2 games to go (4 teams are playing their game in hand tonight) and as you can see it is very close race for the title and the wooden spoon. Roger’s team is currently leading with Brian’s team in 2nd place, Norman’s team 3rd place, Mike B’s team 4th place, Elliott’s team in 5th place and Simon’s team last place but it can all change this week.

Will Roger will his first title as captain since 2016 or will there be a new winning captain?

We held our second Carnival Bowls Dash with the Carnival Committee tonight and saw over 40 people attending with 20 non bowlers taking part in the ‘Non Bowlers Competition’ and 15 bowlers taking part in the ‘Bowlers Competition’.
A big thank you to everyone who came down, to the bowlers who helped with the event and the Ladies in the kitchen for doing the food.
Congratulations to the winners who happened to both be called Alans.

CASH PRIZE OF £25 FOR THE WINNER OF NON-BOWLER GROUP AND ALSO BOWLER GROUP

We along with the Carnival Committee are holding an second ‘Carnival Bowls Dash’ on Tuesday 1st September, a fun knockout singles competition.

There is a new format with two separate knockout competitions, one for NON-BOWLERS and one for BOWLERS with a prize for both winners – all you need is flat shoes!

Please register at the clubhouse by 5:30PM AT THE LATEST for a prompt 6pm in order to get all the games in before we lose the light. (Each games is 4 ends)

The clubhouse will be open from 5pm where burgers and hot dogs for sale along with the bar. We hope to see you come down and have a go – even if you just want to wander down and watch, spectators are welcome!

Tonight saw the annual match between the Men and the Ladies for the Mogford Trophy.

Just before the match started we saw the arrival of Miss ‘Briany’ Walsh who was the special guest the Ladies team.
Briany was welcomed by Roger - as you can see in the photo.

It was an enjoyable evening enjoyed by all and it saw a win for the Men by 19 shots.

Together with the Carnival Committee are holding a second ‘Carnival Bowls Dash’ on Tuesday 1st September, a fun knockout singles competition.
